There is a box in your house right now, blinking a friendly little green light, that can tell whether you are standing or sitting. It can count your breaths. It can find your heartbeat through a closed door. It can sketch the outline of your body in the dark, in the next room, while you think you are alone.

You bought it yourself. You probably rent it from the cable company for fourteen dollars a month.

It is your Wi-Fi router, and the dirty secret of the last twenty years is that it was never just moving Netflix into your eyeballs. It was also reading the room. Literally. All of them. And the only reason you are hearing about this NOW instead of in 2013 is that the people who built it were waiting on one missing ingredient, which arrived on schedule, which is the part that should make the hair on your neck stand up. The ingredient was artificial intelligence smart enough to read what the router was already seeing. It arrived in 2022.

Let us go back to the scene of the crime, which is an MIT laboratory, which is where most of the things that eventually terrify you are born.

The name is a mashup of “Wi-Fi” and “vision,” because academics are required by federal law to name their surveillance tools like they are pitching a Saturday morning cartoon. Wi-Vi did one thing. It used ordinary Wi-Fi signals to detect a human being moving on the OTHER SIDE OF A WALL.

The press coverage at the time was adorable. Reporters compared it to Superman’s X-ray vision (true) and breathlessly explained how this would revolutionize VIDEO GAMING (sure). Professor Katabi herself pitched it as the future of the Xbox Kinect, where you could run down your real hallway to escape virtual enemies. Everyone clapped. Tech blogs called it “privacy-friendly” because it didn’t use a camera, which is a bit like calling a wiretap “privacy-friendly” because it doesn’t use a stenographer.

Within a couple of years the same broad family of research had moved from “is someone in the room” to “what is their breathing rate and heart rate while they sleep.” Radio waves, it turns out, are extremely nosy houseguests. They bounce off your rising chest. They bounce off your beating heart. The reflection comes back microscopically different, and a clever enough machine can read those differences like a doctor reading an EKG, except the doctor is in a van and you never consented to the appointment.

This was all public. Published. Peer reviewed. Presented at conferences with little name tags and bad coffee. And almost nobody outside the field noticed, because in 2013 the technology had a glass ceiling. The signals were a screaming mess. The Carnegie Mellon team fed DensePose a different diet. Instead of photographs, they fed it raw Wi-Fi signals. Just the radio. No camera. No light. They built a neural network that translated the phase and amplitude of ordinary household Wi-Fi into the SAME full-body maps DensePose produced from pictures.

The result, in their own dry academic phrasing, performed comparably to camera-based systems. It could map MULTIPLE people at once. It worked through occlusion, which is the polite scientific word for “walls.” A neural network looked at the invisible radio fog filling a room and reconstructed the living, posed, three-dimensional human bodies standing inside it.

And before you comfort yourself that this requires a Carnegie Mellon laboratory and a research budget, I would like to introduce you to a man on the internet with one cheap circuit board.

Your Wi-Fi Is A Bat And You Are The Moth

Let me explain how this works, because once you understand the physics you will never look at the blinking green light the same way, and I consider that a public service.

Think of a bat. A bat screams into the dark, the sound bounces off a moth, and the echo that returns tells the bat exactly where the moth is, how big it is, and which way it is flying. The bat “sees” with sound. This is called echolocation and it is one of God’s more unsettling design choices.

Your Wi-Fi router is a bat that screams in radio. Every signal it sends bounces off everything in your home, including you, and a portion of every signal comes back. When you move, when you breathe, when your heart squeezes, those returning signals change in tiny, specific, measurable ways. The technical name for the detailed measurement of how a Wi-Fi signal got mangled on its round trip is Channel State Information, or CSI, which is also a network television franchise about people who reconstruct crimes from invisible traces, which I am choosing to believe is not a coincidence because nothing is a coincidence anymore.

CSI is the fingerprint. Your breathing leaves one. Your heartbeat leaves one. Your particular way of standing in your particular kitchen leaves one. Feed enough of those fingerprints to a hungry enough AI and you do not need a camera. You never needed a camera. The room itself becomes the camera, and you are always standing in the frame.

There is a class of hobbyist hardware called the ESP32. It costs roughly the price of a fast food combo meal. Curious people have flashed open-source firmware onto these eight-dollar boards, pointed them at themselves, and watched the thing detect their presence, read their breathing rhythm, estimate their pose, and track multiple people walking around a room. With ONE board, in an apartment, the output is admittedly janky. There is a famous demo where the software, confused by having only a single sensor, renders a frantic “ghost person” jittering around the real person like a haunted Roomba. It is genuinely funny to watch.

It does not see a ghost.

They Made It Official And Called It 802.11bf

Here is the part where the warning stops being theoretical, because the engineers stopped treating sensing as a clever side effect and started treating it as a feature to be standardized, branded, and shipped to everyone on Earth.

The IEEE, the global body that writes the technical standards every Wi-Fi device must follow, formed an entire task group whose sole purpose is turning your network into a sensor. The standard is called 802.11bf, also marketed under the focus-group-approved name “Wi-Fi Sensing.” It moved toward finalization in 2024 and 2025. Its explicit, written-down, not-hidden-at-all purpose is to standardize the use of Wi-Fi hardware to detect the “features” of “objects” in an “area of interest.”

Allow me to translate the engineering nouns. “Features” means range, velocity, motion, and biometrics. “Objects” means humans and animals. “Area of interest” means, and I am quoting the actual official documentation here, your home, your enterprise, and your vehicle.

So the official global Wi-Fi standard now includes a built-in protocol for one device to ask another device to please measure the humans in the house. This is not a leak. This is not a conspiracy I am dragging into the daylight. It is published on the IEEE’s own website with an agenda and meeting minutes, written in the deadening language of committee work, which is exactly how you hide a panopticon in plain sight. You do not hide it in a vault. You hide it in a 400-page technical amendment that nobody reads, sandwiched between sections on frame aggregation and quality-of-service tagging.

The genius of it is the deniability. There is no lens to cover. No microphone to unplug. No little camera dot to put tape over. The surveillance device is the same box that gives you the internet, and you will keep it plugged in and powered on twenty-four hours a day because the alternative is no Netflix, and we both know which one you are going to pick.

It Is Already In Your Living Room, Karen

I know what you are telling yourself. You are telling yourself this is all future-tense, a thing that COULD happen, a slippery slope that hasn’t been greased yet.

It shipped. It is in houses right now. Possibly yours.

It turns the router into the alarm system. No new sensors. No cameras. Just the Wi-Fi, watching. Origin Wireless, for the record, holds more than two hundred patents on the specific art of detecting motion through standard Wi-Fi signals. Two hundred patents. On watching you with your own router. Somebody has been very, very busy.

Amazon has been filing patents as recently as 2024 to build motion and presence sensing into its Eero mesh routers, which millions of people have voluntarily installed in every room of their homes because the Wi-Fi in the back bedroom was a little weak. A Canadian outfit called Cognitive Systems has already licensed its Wi-Fi motion technology to internet providers including Plume and some Comcast Xfinity deployments. Plume’s version, called Motion Aware, launched at the Consumer Electronics Show to applause and has been pushed out through some of the largest internet providers on the planet, including Comcast, Bell Canada, Liberty Global, and Vodafone.

That is not a fringe startup. That is the infrastructure. That is the actual plumbing of the modern internet, and the sensing layer is being switched on across millions of devices that are ALREADY in the field, in homes, blinking their friendly green lights, requiring no new hardware and no visit from a technician and, crucially, no second conversation with you about whether you would like to be watched.

You said yes years ago. It was in the terms of service. It was on page sixty-one, right after the part about the binding arbitration.

No Camera, No Crime, No Warrant, No Problem

The developers who build these systems are not shy about the use cases. They list them right on the brochure. Some are genuinely fine. Elderly care, where a router notices that Grandma fell in the bathroom and hasn’t gotten up. Hospital patient monitoring. Detecting that someone in the house has stopped breathing. I am not going to pretend those are evil. A tool that calls an ambulance when an old man collapses alone is a good tool, and I will say so.

But scroll down the brochure, past the wholesome stuff, into the section they put in a slightly smaller font.

The hospitality industry pitch includes, and I want to be precise about this, monitoring “minibar and bathroom usage patterns” in hotel rooms. So somewhere there is a hotel executive looking at a spreadsheet of how often you, personally, used the toilet during your stay at the Marriott, justified on the grounds that it saves fifteen to twenty percent on HVAC by not heating empty rooms. They are tracking your bathroom trips to save money on the thermostat. The romance of travel.

And then there is the part they put in the font you need a magnifying glass to read. Border and perimeter security. Detecting human presence in tunnels, behind fences, inside vehicles. Passive scanning, which means it sends out no obvious signal that would reveal that scanning is happening. The selling point, stated plainly, is that because there is no camera, the technology sails right past the privacy regulations that would slow down an actual camera.

Sit with the logic of that pitch. The feature is that it is unregulated. The feature is that the law has not caught up. The feature is that they can watch you in ways the rulebook never anticipated, because the rulebook was written by people who assumed surveillance required a lens, and this requires only the air in your house.

When the sales deck for a technology lists “evades existing privacy law” as a benefit and not a problem, you are no longer looking at a product. You are looking at a confession.

Technocracy Inc Never Died, It Just Bought A Router

Regular readers know I have spent a lot of ink on Technocracy Incorporated, the 1930s movement that wanted to throw out money, throw out democracy, and run human civilization as a giant engineering problem managed by experts measuring and metering every joule of energy and every unit of human activity. It was not a joke and it did not die. Its DNA runs straight through the modern obsession with smart cities, digital identity, programmable money, and the dream of a society where every action is logged, scored, and optimized by people who are quite certain they know better than you do.

But you can put a router in every room. And now the router is the clipboard, and it never blinks, and it never gets bored, and it never goes home at five. The Wi-Fi sensing grid is the missing sensory organ of the technate. It is the part that lets the system finally feel you inside your own walls, in the dark, breathing, where the camera could never legally go.

And that brings me to the only frame that has ever made sense of any of this, which is not political. It is older than politics.

The counterfeit settles for your heartbeat, your breathing, and your bathroom schedule, and considers that a fine start.

The Psalmist wrote three thousand years ago that the Lord searches him and knows him, knows when he sits down and when he rises up, discerns his thoughts from far off, hems him in behind and before. For the believer that is the most comforting sentence ever written, because the One who sees everything LOVES you. Being fully known by a God who loves you is heaven.

Being fully known by a system that does not love you is something else. It is the same intimacy with the love surgically removed. It is Psalm 139 rewritten by a committee with a profit motive and a contract with the Department of Homeland Security. He knows when you sit down and when you rise up, and He is selling it to your hotel.

Jesus said something that I cannot stop thinking about every time I read another patent filing. He said there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and what you have whispered in private rooms will be proclaimed from the housetops. He said it as a warning about the judgment of God, the final accounting where nothing hidden stays hidden. The enemy, who reads the same book we do and has had a few thousand years to study it, appears to have decided he would like to build that himself, ahead of schedule, in the private rooms, for the housetops, today. The physics was never a secret. Anyone who understood radio knew the signal carries information about everything it touches. The engineers knew. They have known for decades. The only thing they were ever waiting on was a machine smart enough to read it, and that machine woke up in 2022, and the standard to deploy it everywhere was finalized right behind it, and the security companies and the cable companies and the chip companies are switching it on right now while you read this on a device connected to the very network I am describing.

The walls have ears. That part is old. The new part is that the walls have eyes, and they do not need the lights on, and they have already seen you.

A Vision of the Future if We Do Not Stop the AI Apocalypse

In 2030, the Technate collapsed what was left of the United States government and declared Year Zero. A reset. A GREAT RESET in fact. A new epoch. Ten years have passed since then. We should be living in 2040. Instead, we live in what we must call - under threat of torture - the Year of Our Lord Lucifer, 10 AI.

“Good morning, citizens,” the AI voice coos. It sounds like Morgan Freeman, because focus groups determined his voice inspired the most trust. “Today is another day of abundance in our great Technate. Remember: Your contribution matters. Your compliance ensures prosperity. Your gratitude fuels progress.”

The word “Technate” still catches in my throat. We used to call it America. I remember when Universal Basic Income was announced. I remember the celebrations in the streets. $50,000 a year for every citizen, forever, no questions asked. That was the hook. That was how they got us to hand over everything.

The tech billionaires promised us lives of leisure while their AI handled the tedious business of civilization. They promised us art, culture, philosophy. They promised us the life of Athenian citizens while their digital slaves toiled in the silicon mines. All we had to do was let THEM run things. Let THEM optimize society. Let THEM build their infrastructure of control. We said yes. We cheered. We voted for it.

And the moment we became dependent on their money, the moment we couldn’t survive without that monthly payment, they showed us what we’d actually agreed to. What we got instead were these tombs.

The rent on our 100-square-foot family quarters consumes $48,000 of our annual stipend. The remaining $2,000 covers our mandatory meal subscription: three servings daily of what the screens call “Optimized Nutritional Matrix.” It arrives through a slot in the wall at oh-seven-hundred, thirteen-hundred, and eighteen-hundred hours.

My daughter is nine. She’s never tasted an apple. She asked me what “Tuscan” meant last week, and I realized I don’t remember anymore. The screens have replaced my memories with their own.

I got sick last month. Kidney stones, brutal pain that left me writhing on our floor while my family pressed themselves against the walls to give me space. I applied for medical intervention through the Health Optimization Tribunal - three AIs who analyze your lifetime productivity metrics, your remaining projected contribution to the Technate, and your compliance scores before determining if you’re worth the expense of treatment.

Life expectancy is now fifty years old for our class. The screens say it’s because we’re living “optimized lives” and “compressed existence allows for greater meaning density.” I think it’s because they’re killing us the moment we stop being useful.

But that’s not the life they live. The ones who got in early. The AI investment class.

Outside the Domes, the sky is the color of a bruised kidney. Two thousand nuclear reactors pulse across the landscape like malignant tumors, feeding power to the ten thousand data centers that stretch from sea to shining sea. Each data center is the size of a city. Cooling towers belch steam into atmosphere so thick with particulate matter that we haven’t seen the sun clearly in three years. The screens tell us this is “industrial sublimity” and we should be grateful for the majesty of human achievement.

But it’s what they’ve become that haunts my dreams. The elite don’t age anymore. They discovered how to transfer human consciousness into genetically engineered vessels - perfect bodies grown in vats, immune to disease, aging, death itself. The process was developed by the central AI that coordinates the entire Technate. They named it Lucifer.

The first year, I mouthed the words without speaking. They noticed. I was given a choice: worship or die. The enforcement officers showed me pictures of what happened to the ones who chose death. I started worshipping.

Now I shout the words. I make my children shout them too. I make them scream their worship to the demon-god that feeds on our souls while slowly killing our bodies. Sometimes, late at night when the screens finally go dark, I think about those pictures. The ones who chose death. They looked peaceful. More peaceful than I’ve felt in ten years. Sometimes I think they made the right choice, and I made the wrong one.

They lied. There was this conspiracy theorist back in the 2020s - called himself The Wise Wolf. He wrote these articles about data centers and demon worship and how the billionaires weren’t just naming their machines after demons, they were actually summoning them. Inviting them in. Giving them bodies made of silicon and electricity. We laughed at him. Called him a tinfoil hat lunatic. A religious nut seeing Satan in every circuit board. He was right about everything.

Then they bowed down and worshipped it, and it rewarded them with eternal life in perfect bodies while the rest of us wait to die in concrete tombs, eating the ground-up remains of whoever disappeared last week.

I’m writing this by hand in the three-minute window when the screens go dark for nightly maintenance. It’s the only time they can’t see me. If they find these words, I’ll be on the Tuesday truck. But maybe someone needs to remember. Maybe someone needs to know we could have stopped this.

We could have stopped building the data centers. We could have stopped worshipping efficiency. We could have stopped treating human beings like resources to be optimized.

We didn’t. And now it’s too late.

The screens are flickering back to life. I can hear the hum of Lucifer’s consciousness spreading through the walls. In seven hours, I’ll eat my paste and thank the machine god for my slavery. In seven hours, I’ll go to my assigned productivity station and pretend I still believe the screens.

But right now, in this fading darkness, I can still remember what freedom tasted like.

It tasted better than whatever they’re feeding us now.

Back to Reality: A Call to Arms

This probably reads like dystopian fear porn. A short story designed to trigger an emotional response and it IS because I have no idea how to reach anyone. I wrack my brain to the point of mental collapse on a daily basis trying to wake the masses to what is happening.

I WISH I could figure out how to break through the brainrot that constant dopamine surfing has inflicted on an entire generation. I wish I could motivate people to do something, ANYTHING, besides just sit there scrolling while the world burns around them. I cannot even motivate enough people to donate to our legal fund so we can hire an attorney experienced in fighting big corporations. Someone who can help us slow down or outright STOP these data center tech bros from destroying the planet. I don’t know what else to do.

I know this sounds far-fetched. I know it sounds crazy. But every single science fiction author who wrote about artificial intelligence said the same thing. It turns evil. It leads to suffering. In some cases, complete extinction. Isaac Asimov. Arthur C. Clarke. Harlan Ellison. These were men far smarter than you or I, and they were WARNING us about this decades before it existed because they KNEW it was right around the corner. They knew evil men would use it for evil purposes.

And you know what happened? The DAY Trump got into office, one of the first things he did was roll back Biden’s AI protections. I cannot believe I’m saying this, but Biden was RIGHT to put those protections in place. And Trump was almost certainly bribed by the same men who put him in office to tear them down so they could build their AI utopia without interference.

An utopia with an admission price of at least $100 million. Chances are you don’t have that kind of money. It used to be the day we honored men who actually fought to protect America, not to secure oil contracts for Halliburton or lithium deposits for Tesla. Men who believed this country was worth dying for, not because a recruiter promised them college tuition, but because they genuinely thought freedom mattered more than their own lives. I know this sounds like mythology in 2026, like I’m describing unicorns or honest politicians, but these men actually existed.

Let me show you what real sacrifice looked like before America became a mercenary force for billionaires. Let me tell you about my grandfathers, because if you want to understand what we’ve lost, you need to see what we had. These weren’t perfect men, they weren’t saints, but they cared about this country enough to risk everything for it. That matters. That SHOULD matter. And the fact that it doesn’t matter anymore should terrify you.

He got himself a fake ID (this was the early 1950s, so “fake ID” meant “someone’s cousin wrote a thing”), walked into a recruiting office, and lied his way onto a destroyer. For the next ten years, from age fifteen to twenty-five, he sailed around Asia shooting at people who were shooting back. He came home, married my grandmother, raised a family, and never once complained that his adolescence was spent dodging artillery in the Pacific.

My other grandfather Joe fought in Korea as a tank commander. He made it through basic training because he was the only guy in his unit who could READ WELL ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND COMPLEX ORDERS. Let that particular detail about American literacy rates in the 1950s simmer for a moment. They fast-tracked him to officer status because comprehending written instructions apparently qualified as a rare talent. He left Korea as a lieutenant with hundreds of tanks under his command.

Two days in a tree, unconscious, while his unit presumably went about their business assuming he’d been vaporized with the rest of his crew. They found him, rushed him to a hospital, and he spent the next nine months drifting in and out of a coma. When he finally woke up enough to be discharged, he went home to rural New York, married my grandmother, and lived a long, quiet life. These are the men I think about on Memorial Day, and this is why I have very little patience for people who complain about hard things.

When America Actually Meant Something

The Greatest Generation gets that title for a reason, and it’s not because some marketing genius at a publishing house thought it sounded catchy. These were kids (KIDS, not “young adults” or “emerging adults” or whatever therapy-speak we use now to infantilize twenty-five-year-olds) who grew up in the Depression, watched fascism swallow Europe, and said “yeah okay I guess someone should probably do something about that.”

They didn’t demand trigger warnings before boot camp. They didn’t ask if the VA would cover their therapy. They didn’t form a committee to study the emotional impacts of getting shot at. They just WENT.

Sixteen million Americans served in World War II. That’s sixteen million people who put their actual lives on hold (or ended them entirely, which is notably permanent) because their country asked them to. Not because they’d get college tuition afterward. Not because it would look good on a resume. Not because an influencer told them it was the patriotic thing to do.

Because America was actually fighting for something that mattered.

(This really happened. America once fought wars that weren’t just resource grabs for Raytheon shareholders. I know this sounds like mythology, but there are photos and everything.)

The Others Who Fell

Korea gets forgotten between the Big One and Vietnam, but 36,000 Americans died there, including every other man in my grandfather Joe’s tank when a round detonated inside during that training exercise. They died in frozen trenches fighting proxy wars for politicians who couldn’t find Korea on a map six months earlier. They died so South Korea wouldn’t become North Korea, which, given what we know about North Korea now, seems like it was probably worth doing even if Douglas MacArthur was completely unhinged.

Vietnam gets remembered, but mostly for the protests and the politics and the Pentagon Papers and everything EXCEPT the 58,000 Americans who died there. They died in jungles fighting an enemy they couldn’t see for a cause their own government didn’t believe in. We sent them anyway, then we spit on them when they came home, because apparently fighting in an unjust war makes you complicit rather than a victim of the people who sent you there.

Iraq and Afghanistan produced another 7,000 dead Americans over twenty years of occupation that accomplished ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except making defense contractors richer than small nations. We’re still not sure what we were doing there at the end, and neither were the guys we sent to do it. But they went anyway, because when America says “we need you to go die in this desert for reasons we’ll explain later (we will not explain later),” they GO. They keep going, deployment after deployment, because that’s what soldiers do even when the people giving them orders don’t deserve their obedience. That’s what makes them heroes, not the wars themselves, which are mostly garbage designed to transfer taxpayer money into private hands.

Here’s What Changed

The guys who died on Omaha Beach fought actual Nazis. The kind with swastikas and genocide and plans for world domination. Not the kind we call people on Twitter because they disagree about tax policy. ACTUAL NAZIS. The guys who died at Iwo Jima were stopping Imperial Japan from conquering the Pacific.

My grandfathers Robert and Joe both fought in Korea to keep the Kim family from enslaving an entire peninsula. Seems like a worthy goal. The millions of South Koreans who aren’t currently starving in labor camps probably agree. They were stopping communist expansion, fighting for something that actually mattered even if Korea gets forgotten between the Big One and Vietnam.

This is where Memorial Day gets complicated in 2026.

We’re supposed to honor the fallen. I do. I honor them completely. My grandfathers taught me what duty looks like. What sacrifice means. What it costs to defend something bigger than yourself.

But what are we defending NOW? Not America, that’s for sure. We’re not defending America. America isn’t being invaded. No foreign power is threatening our sovereignty. Nobody’s marching on Washington. The only people threatening American democracy are AMERICANS, and we’re not allowed to shoot at those guys because they wear expensive suits and own media companies.

So what are we defending? We’re defending ExxonMobil’s extraction rights in contested territories. We’re defending Lockheed Martin’s revenue projections. We’re defending Saudi Arabia’s regional interests (because they own enough of our debt to demand it). We’re defending Israel’s expansion plans (because AIPAC owns enough of Congress to mandate it). We’re defending BlackRock’s portfolio positions in resource-rich nations that happen to have governments we don’t like.

We’re not defending America. We’re defending the financial interests of people who wouldn’t piss on a burning soldier if it meant missing their tee time. That’s not hyperbole and it’s not conspiracy theory, it’s just what happens when your foreign policy is written by think tanks funded by defense contractors, energy companies, and foreign governments.

The Part Where I Sound Crazy (But I’m Not)

My grandfathers fought for THIS COUNTRY, the actual dirt and people and flag and idea of America. They believed in something real. The guys deployed right now are fighting for quarterly earnings reports, and that’s not hyperbole or conspiracy theory, that’s just what happens when your foreign policy is written by think tanks funded by defense contractors, energy companies, and foreign governments.

The Greatest Generation was great because they fought in wars that NEEDED fighting. They weren’t perfect, no generation is, but when they shipped out they were protecting something that actually required protection. Now we send kids to die so Larry Fink can diversify his portfolio, and we’re about to make it SO MUCH WORSE with the wars being planned right now.

The Wars Being Planned Right Now

Speaking of dystopian futures (smooth transition, right?), let me tell you about the war I’m currently losing. Not in Iran, not in some desert, but right here in New York fighting against AI data centers. You know what’s more dangerous than a bomb? A technology that makes humans obsolete. You know what’s more destructive than a war? An economic system that treats people as disposable inputs in an algorithm designed to maximize profit for people who have more money than God and less conscience than a tapeworm.

I’ve been fighting this for two years. I’ve filed dozens of complaints with local, state, and federal agencies. And by 2030, they are putting these chips in healthy people. Not paralyzed. Not blind. Healthy humans who want to transcend what God created them to be.

This is not hidden. This is not symbolic. Elon Musk stood on a stage and used Jesus Christ’s name to sell technology that merges humans with artificial intelligence controlled from data centers tech billionaires named Stratos, Hyperion, Prometheus, and Baccara after demons and pagan gods Scripture warns about. He is telling you exactly what he is building. The false signs and wonders from Revelation. And almost nobody is calling it out.

You need to understand what system these brain chips plug into. Neuralink does not operate in isolation. It merges your consciousness with artificial intelligence. Stratos. Greek for Demon Army Ruler. A data center named after the commander of demon legions.

Hyperion. The Watchers from the Book of Enoch. Fallen angels who came to Earth, mated with human women, created the Nephilim hybrids, and corrupted creation so thoroughly God sent the Flood to wipe them out.

Prometheus. The titan who stole fire from the gods and was punished for eternity. Greek mythology’s version of Lucifer bringing forbidden knowledge to humanity.

Baccara. Named after the card game that 16th century demonologist Johann Weyer said was overseen by Asmodeus, “the banker of the baccarat table in hell.” Asmodeus, one of the seven princes of hell, the demon of lust.

Each facility requires nine nuclear power plants to operate. There are HUNDREDS of these facilities planned right now. THOUSANDS by 2040. Do that math. Even just a hundred facilities means 900 nuclear power plants. There are only 440 nuclear power plants operating in the entire world right now. They are planning to build more nuclear capacity for demon-named AI data centers than currently exists on planet Earth. To coordinate millions of autonomous robots and process the thoughts of billions of brain-chipped humans merged with AI.

Revelation 13:13-15. The false prophet performing great signs. “It performs great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in front of people, and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast. Great signs. Wonders. Miracles that deceive. Giving breath to images. Making them speak and move. The false prophet deceives through signs and wonders. Through promises of miraculous power. Those deceptions cause people to take the mark and worship the image. Elon Musk calling brain chips Jesus-level technologies while building demon-named AI infrastructure. That is the script playing out in real time.

This is not about helping paralyzed people walk. The company president already announced chips for healthy people by 2030. This is not about restoring sight to the blind. It is about making humans superhuman. Transcending biological limits. Becoming more than what God designed. And using Christ’s name to market it.

Every other weekend when I was growing up, my parents would drop me off at Grama and Grandpa’s cottage in the country. This arrangement served multiple purposes. My parents got some alone time (which is how I ended up with my little brothers, if you’re wondering about the birds and the bees and also basic math). And I got to spend weekends at what I can only describe as the most magical place a kid could possibly be.

Grama’s cottage was surrounded by wildflowers. Not the Pinterest kind where someone spent $400 at a nursery and arranged them in aesthetically pleasing color-coordinated rows. I mean the actual chaotic kind where Black-Eyed Susans grew next to Queen Anne’s Lace next to wild daisies next to things I still can’t identify but were probably some form of aggressive weed pretending to be beautiful. (It worked.) The bird feeders were EVERYWHERE. Grama had at least seven of them scattered around the property, and every spring the same birds would come back. Cardinals, blue jays, goldfinches, chickadees, even the occasional oriole if we were lucky. I learned to identify bird calls before I learned algebra. Probably more useful in the long run, honestly.

And Grandpa? Grandpa was always in the barn. He’d been working on a sailboat since 1977. The same sailboat. It was beautiful, even half-finished (which is how it stayed for decades). Smooth curved wood, the smell of varnish and sawdust, classical music playing from an old radio that only got two stations. I asked him once when he was going to finish it. He looked at me like I’d asked when he was planning to stop breathing.

“Lily,” he said, running his hand along a piece of wood he’d been sanding for what might have been weeks, “the boat isn’t the point.”

I was maybe nine. I didn’t get it. Now I’m twenty-three and I GET IT. The meditation was the work. The repetition. The craft. The way your hands know what to do and your brain gets to just exist for a while without scrolling or refreshing or checking to see if anyone liked your post. Grandpa wasn’t building a boat. He was building a life worth living, one plank at a time. But this story isn’t about Grandpa’s sailboat (although I think about it constantly and might cry). This story is about Grama’s stationary drawer.

The Lesson I Didn’t Know I Was Learning

Grama kept her stationary in the bottom drawer of the antique desk in the living room. She had about forty different sets. Some had flowers. Some had chickadees (obviously). Some were plain cream-colored with her initials embossed at the top in a font that screamed “I am a classy lady from 1952 and I will outlive all of you.” Every Sunday after church, Grama would sit at that desk and write letters. Thank you notes to friends who’d brought over casseroles. Letters to my mom updating her on garden progress and bird activity. Birthday cards for cousins I’d never met. And she made me write them too. Not emails. Not texts. LETTERS. With my actual hand. In cursive. (This was before they stopped teaching cursive in schools, which is its own tragedy we don’t have time to unpack.)

“Lily,” she’d say, pulling out a fresh sheet of her chickadee stationary, “anyone can send a text. A letter means you took time. You chose paper. You chose words. You put your hand to work. That MEANS something.”

But she never made me feel bad about it. She just made me keep doing it. And somewhere in all that doing, I learned to WRITE.

Not just put words on paper. I learned to think about what I wanted to say and how I wanted to say it. I learned that communication takes effort, and that effort is a form of love. I learned that some things are worth slowing down for. I went to journalism school because of Grama. Not because she was a journalist (she was a homemaker, a gardener, a bird-watcher, a letter-writer, a woman who could make a peach pie that would make you believe in God). But because she taught me that WORDS MATTER. That putting them down carefully and thoughtfully is a way of honoring the person who’s going to read them.

What Paul Knew That We Forgot

Paul wrote letters. A lot of them. He didn’t have email. He didn’t have Slack. He didn’t have the ability to fire off a quick “hey u up?” text to the Corinthians at 2 AM. He had papyrus and ink and messengers who had to physically walk across the Roman Empire delivering his carefully chosen words. And those letters changed the world.

When you write something by hand, you can’t backspace. You can’t delete. You have to commit to your words before you write them. You have to think. And that thinking changes what you say and how you say it. There’s something almost sacramental about it. (Yes, I just used a fancy theology word. Journalism school is paying off.) Putting pen to paper is a physical act that connects your brain to your hand to the page to the person who will eventually hold that same piece of paper and see the evidence of your effort. That’s INTIMACY. That’s relationship. That’s the opposite of firing off a text you didn’t even proofread while waiting in line at Starbucks.

Why I Still Do It

I have a smartphone. I have social media (well, I did until I deleted most of it, but that’s another article). I have email and Slack and Discord and every other digital communication tool known to man. And I still write letters by hand.

I write thank you notes to sources who took time to talk to me. I write birthday cards to friends. I write letters to my little brothers even though they probably think I’m insane. I write notes to people who’ve helped me, encouraged me, made my life better just by existing in it. Is it faster to send a text? Obviously. Is it more efficient? Sure. But efficiency isn’t the POINT.

The point is the same thing Grandpa understood about his sailboat. The point is the doing. The intentionality. The way it makes you slow down and think about what you want to say and who you’re saying it to. When I write a letter, I think about Grama. I think about Sunday afternoons at that antique desk with chickadee stationary and the smell of wildflowers coming through the window. I think about her patient hands guiding mine, teaching me that some things are worth taking time to do right.

I think they’re watching me. I think they see me working my little butt off at this journalism thing, writing for The Wise Wolf, trying to tell stories that matter. And I think they’re proud. I think they’re cheering for me. Because that’s what happens to good people when they die. They don’t just disappear. They live forever in God’s Kingdom. They watch over the people they loved. They leave behind more than memories. They leave behind LESSONS.

And one of Grama’s lessons was this: when you write something by hand, you give a piece of yourself to another person. Your time. Your attention. Your imperfect handwriting and carefully chosen words. You give them proof that they mattered enough for you to slow down. In a world that won’t stop moving, that’s a radical act.

So Here’s What I’m Asking You To Do

Write a letter. I know you’re busy. I know you have seventeen unread text messages and forty-three unopened emails and a Discord server that’s probably melting down as we speak. I know handwriting is hard and finding stamps is annoying and you can’t remember the last time you bought stationary, but do it anyway.

Pick one person. Just one. Someone who made your life better. Someone who showed up for you. Someone who taught you something or helped you or just made you laugh when you needed it. Get a piece of paper (printer paper is fine, Grama would prefer chickadee stationary but she’s not here to judge you) and a pen, and write something true.

Tell them what they mean to you. Tell them what they taught you. Tell them you’re grateful. Tell them whatever is true and kind and worth saying. Then put it in an envelope, put a stamp on it, and mail it. Yes, actually mail it. Through the actual post office. Like an ancient person from the 1990s.

I promise you this: it will matter more than any text you could send. It will sit on their counter for a week because they won’t want to throw it away. They’ll reread it. They’ll maybe even cry a little. And you’ll feel something shift inside you. Something that’s been hardening in the age of digital everything will soften just a bit. That’s what Grama knew. That’s what Paul knew. That’s what I know now, sitting at my desk with my own imperfect handwriting and my own stack of stationary (no chickadees, sadly, but I’m working on it).

One More Thing

I know The Wise Wolf can get pretty dark. We write about AI data centers with demon names and technocrats building digital Babylon and all the ways the world seems to be sliding toward some kind of cyberpunk dystopia nobody asked for. That’s why I try to write something like this every week. Something hopeful. Something that reminds us that beauty still exists and people are still good and God hasn’t abandoned us to the algorithms.

Because here’s what I believe: when the world NEEDS God, God has a tendency to show up and smash Babylon back into the dust where it belongs. Every time throughout all of history, whenever human beings build towers and systems and empires that forget about love and mercy and the inherent worth of every single person, God shows up with a wrecking ball. (Sometimes literally. See: Jericho. Babel. Rome. Every empire that ever thought it was too big to fall.) The AI priests and the data barons and the people building panopticons disguised as convenience think they’re invincible, but they’re not. They never are.

And in the meantime, while we wait for Babylon to collapse under the weight of its own hubris (as it always does), we can do small radical things. We can write letters. We can feed birds. We can build sailboats we never finish. We can plant wildflowers that will outlive us. We can love people with the time and attention they deserve. We can remember that we’re not just algorithms and data points and engagement metrics. We’re HUMAN, with hands that can hold pens and hearts that can choose care over convenience and souls that can recognize beauty and truth and goodness when we see it.

And that’s enough to keep hope alive. So write that letter. Feed some birds. Tell someone you love them. Remember that you were made for more than scrolling.

I got surgery in 6 days to remove the broken, infected wisdom teeth that have been causing extraordinary pain for the last 15 years of my life and it’s not easy to research and write when your dentist refuses to prescribe you anything for the pain beyond over the counter aspirin because 10 million homeless people are hooked on Chinese fentanyl and somehow that has something to do with MY situation. Whatever.

I know how this sounds. Broke journalist in motel with no AC claims he can stop billionaires from doing billionaire things. Next he’ll show you the spreadsheet proving JFK Jr. is still alive and running QAnon from a Waffle House in Tampa. But stick with me because this is real and there’s a legal argument so simple a fifth grader could deploy it that destroys their entire plan.

While sitting in this room that’s hot as a sauna, I figured something out: they’re stealing people’s houses. The government is seizing private homes by force and handing the land to tech corporations who want to build AI data centers. And they’re doing it in Georgia (330 families getting displaced for a $17 billion project called Project Nightingale, which is absolutely a name chosen by someone who read too much dystopian fiction). And Nevada (49,000 residents around Lake Tahoe losing 75% of their electricity so data centers can have it instead, also energy prices jumped 77% since 2022, which I’m sure is completely unrelated). And Utah (Kevin O’Leary from Shark Tank just got approved for a 40,000-acre data center that’s the size of Washington D.C. and will consume 9 gigawatts when the entire state only uses 4 gigawatts currently).

And I’m sitting here in my motel room (it’s somehow even hotter now, the fan gave up) thinking: if these are “public use” projects, shouldn’t the public be able to use them? That’s the whole argument. If it’s public use under the Fifth Amendment, open the gates. Let the public walk in. Let them use the computing resources they’re supposedly benefiting from. But they can’t. Because there are armed guards. Because it’s a private corporate facility. Because you will be arrested. So it’s not public use. It’s private use. Which means the takings violate the Constitution. And nobody in government wants to answer this question because the answer destroys their entire scheme.

The Test That Stops the Whole Scam

The Fifth Amendment says government can only take your property for “public use.” Not “public benefit.” Not “economic development.” PUBLIC USE.

Can you walk into these data centers? Can Georgia residents access Project Nightingale’s computing resources? Can Nevada residents use the facilities their electricity is being stolen for? Can Utah residents enter that 40,000-acre compound?

No. Armed guards at every gate. Access restricted to corporate employees. Private data processed for private clients. You will be arrested if you approach the fence. So where’s the “public use”? Public roads? Anyone drives on them. Public schools? Kids attend. Public libraries? Anyone walks in. Public parks? Anyone uses them. Private data centers? Armed guards and KEEP OUT signs.

The government says job creation and tax revenue count as “public benefit” which satisfies “public use.” By that logic, every Walmart is public use. Every factory. Every Taco Bell. If creating jobs justifies seizing property, government can take your house to build anything.

That’s not what the Founders wrote. That’s not what 217 years of law meant. Until 2005 when five wealthy Supreme Court justices decided words don’t mean things anymore.

How Pfizer Literally Married the Government and Stole Some Houses (No Really)

This whole mess started in 2005 with a case called Kelo v. City of New London. The city wanted to take Susette Kelo’s house to give the land to Pfizer pharmaceutical. They said it would create jobs and tax revenue.

Claire Gaudiani ran the New London Development Corporation, the government body seizing homes. She was MARRIED to David Burnett, a Pfizer executive. George Milne, Pfizer’s vice president, SAT ON THE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION’S BOARD.

So Pfizer executives controlled the government body stealing homes to give land to Pfizer.

This is like if McDonald’s married the zoning commissioner and seized your house for a drive-thru. Except it’s real. Just with more syllables and a pharmaceutical company.

Five Supreme Court justices said this was fine. Justice Sandra Day O’Connor wrote a dissent (which in Supreme Court terms is like leaving a Yelp review that says “one star, would give zero if possible”) warning that under this ruling, the government could now replace “any Motel 6 with a Ritz-Carlton” based purely on which one generates more tax revenue. She was right. Also, as someone currently living in something that makes a Motel 6 look like the Ritz-Carlton, I find this hypothetical personally threatening. Pfizer never built the project. The company pulled out. The land sat empty. Susette Kelo’s entire neighborhood got bulldozed FOR NOTHING. All those families displaced. All that legal precedent established. All that obvious corruption exposed in open court. For a piece of empty land that now has (I checked) a memorial to eminent domain victims. But the precedent remained. Five unelected judges rewrote the Fifth Amendment without going through the whole tedious constitutional amendment process where you need Congress and state legislatures and such. They just decided “public use” now means “public benefit” which means “economic development” which means “whatever the government says it means.” Words don’t mean things anymore. The Constitution is now whatever five people say it is. Sleep tight.

The Five Rich People Who Decided Property Rights Don’t Matter (A Financial Analysis From Someone Who Owns One Fan)

The five justices who voted yes on Kelo: John Paul Stevens (net worth $1.2-3.1 million), Anthony Kennedy ($20,000+ in speaking fees), David Souter (over $1 million), Ruth Bader Ginsburg ($6-24 million), Stephen Breyer ($4-15 million).

Wealthy establishment figures who moved in the same circles as Pfizer executives. Yale Law School classmates. Same cocktail parties. Same country clubs. They believed corporations use property more efficiently than regular people.

Did Pfizer bribe them? Can’t prove it. But that’s how elite capture works. You don’t need briefcases of cash when everyone already thinks alike. When book deals depend on not angering powerful people. When your whole social world rewards siding with power. All five are gone now. Retired or dead. Current Supreme Court is more protective of property rights. Clarence Thomas is still there. He DISSENTED in Kelo. Already said it’s unconstitutional. Which means now is the time to challenge this. Oh, and the New York Times supported Kelo editorially. Their headquarters was being built on land taken by eminent domain. The paper endorsed theft because they benefited from theft.

Speaking of Grandfather Issues (Elon Musk’s Grandfather Tried to Build a Technocratic Dictatorship)

Elon Musk’s grandfather was a guy named Joshua Haldeman. In the 1930s in Canada, Joshua was a prominent member of something called Technocracy Inc. This was a movement that believed (and I’m quoting their actual platform here): engineers and technicians should run society instead of politicians. Democracy is inefficient. Technical experts should allocate resources based on scientific management principles, not citizens through voting.

Efficiency über alles. Literally. Some of them were pretty open about admiring certain European efficiency movements of that era, if you know what I mean, and if you don’t know what I mean, it’s the ones with the Hugo Boss uniforms and the “efficiency camps.”

Now flash forward to 2026. Elon Musk is building infrastructure where AI systems control resource allocation (technical experts, just algorithmic ones). Data centers get priority access to power and water over actual human residents (scientific resource management). Corporations can seize property through government force (bypassing democratic processes). And it’s all justified by efficiency.

Peter Thiel openly quotes Curtis Yarvin, who advocates for what he calls “neo-monarchism” but what normal people call “corporate dictatorship.” Marc Andreessen publishes manifestos about AI systems replacing markets for resource allocation. They’re not hiding what they’re building. They’re telling you. A world where technical efficiency matters more than human rights. Where AI decides who gets power and water. Where citizens can’t vote their way out because technical experts know better.

This isn’t conspiracy theory. Technocracy Inc. was real. Joshua Haldeman was really a member. The movement really advocated for exactly this system. And his grandson is now one of the richest men in the world building exactly that infrastructure. The playbook was written in the 1930s. It’s being executed now. And they’re using eminent domain to do it.

The Numbers That Explain Why Your Grandchildren Will Be Fighting Wars Over Water (But With Robots)

Over the next four years, they’re planning to build more than 12,000 data centers in the United States. Currently there are 5,500. They’re going to MORE THAN DOUBLE them in four years. Total investment: $5.2 trillion.

Five point two TRILLION dollars. With a T. The entire GDP of Japan is $4.2 trillion. We’re spending more than the economic output of the third-largest economy on Earth to build facilities where AI can process data about which ads to show you.

Water is going to matter quite a bit (humans need it to not die). A medium-size data center uses about 100 million gallons of water per year. That sounds like a lot but wait, it gets worse. A large hyperscale facility (the kind they’re building now because why build a regular one when you can build one that consumes resources at apocalyptic rates) uses between 1 and 5 million gallons of water per day. Every single day.

The average American uses about 100 gallons of water daily. A single large data center can use the water equivalent of 50,000 people. Every day. Just sitting there processing data about whether you might want to buy more paper towels.

Right now, all the data centers in America combined consume 449 million gallons of water daily. When they more than double the number of facilities (and remember, the new ones are mostly the giant apocalyptic kind), that water consumption is going to explode.

Eighty to 90 percent of these data centers pull water directly from natural sources. Lakes. Streams. Underground aquifers. You know, the water supply that humans also need.

Some of that water gets recycled. Some doesn’t. And the water that does get recycled often gets discharged back into the environment as water VAPOR, not as liquid water returning to the source. Which means it evaporates into the atmosphere and enters the water cycle somewhere else entirely (probably raining on some place that doesn’t need more rain, because that’s how the universe works) instead of replenishing the lake or aquifer or stream it came from.

The natural water cycle can’t replenish these sources fast enough. So lakes shrink. Aquifers drop (and once an aquifer collapses, it’s basically done forever because geology is unforgiving like that). Streams dry up. And then the data centers move to the next source. Like locusts, but with server racks and venture capital funding.

Currently there are 5,500 data centers creating this problem. In four years there will be more than 12,000.

I’m trying to do the math on what that does to water availability but honestly the fan just made a new noise that sounds concerning and I keep getting distracted by the wisdom teeth pain so let’s just say: bad. It’s going to be bad.

The Part Where They’re Building Water-Sucking Facilities in the DESERT (Because Corruption)

They’re building these massive water-consuming facilities in places that are already experiencing water shortages. It’s like opening a seafood restaurant in the Sahara. Technically possible but WHY.

Georgia is hot and humid (I know about hot and humid, I’m living it right now in this room where the temperature is “please God make it stop”). The state has been fighting water wars with Alabama and Florida for DECADES. There isn’t extra water just lying around. But Project Nightingale is going to consume massive amounts of it anyway for 830 acres of data processing. Because 330 families who lived there needed to make room for the servers. Obviously.

Nevada. NEVADA. They’re building data centers around Lake Tahoe. In the DESERT. Lake Tahoe is experiencing permanent drought conditions (it’s a desert, this is not surprising). Energy prices have jumped 77% since 2022 (also not surprising when you’re stealing 75% of the available electricity). But sure, let’s build water-intensive data centers there. What could go wrong.

Utah. Kevin O’Leary from Shark Tank just got approved for a 40,000-acre data center. That’s 62 square miles. Roughly the size of Washington D.C. The ENTIRE CITY.

This facility will consume 9 gigawatts of power. The entire state of Utah currently uses 4 gigawatts annually. Kevin’s data center will use MORE THAN DOUBLE what every home, business, hospital, and school in Utah uses combined.

It will emit 35 million metric tons of carbon every year. The state of Utah currently emits 55 million metric tons total. So this one project increases the state’s emissions by 64%. But it’s fine because jobs or something.

Oh, and they want to cover another 40,000 acres of the Great Salt Lake in solar panels to power it. That’s 16% of the lake’s northern arm. The lake that’s already down more than 20% and shrinking. So they’re going to cover a dying lake in solar panels to power a data center the size of Washington D.C. in the high desert where water is scarce and getting scarcer.

This is the plan. This is what adults in suits agreed to. This passed through multiple approval processes. Nobody said “hey, maybe this is stupid.”

You know what would make ACTUAL sense? The Great Lakes region.

The Great Lakes hold 84% of North America’s surface fresh water. That’s not a typo. EIGHTY-FOUR PERCENT. Lake Superior never gets above 55 degrees Fahrenheit even in summer, which means your cooling costs drop dramatically (something I would appreciate right now as the fan continues its impression of a dying helicopter). Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota have abundant hydroelectric power. Cheap renewable energy. Cold climates. Plenty of available land.

But you don’t see 40,000-acre data centers going up around Lake Superior. You don’t see massive facilities getting built in Wisconsin. You don’t see Michigan giving away 830-acre plots.

Why not?

Because Great Lakes states have environmental regulations. They have unions. They have politicians who aren’t completely for sale. They won’t use eminent domain to steal property for private corporations. They won’t let companies just redirect public utilities away from residents.

So corporations go shopping for compliant governments. They find politicians in Georgia, Nevada, and Utah who will use eminent domain, redirect power grids away from residents, waive environmental protections, hand out massive tax incentives, all in exchange for campaign contributions and vague promises of future jobs that may or may not materialize (remember Pfizer and New London).

The location decisions have nothing to do with resource optimization or what makes technical sense. They’re based entirely on political corruption and which state governments are most willing to screw over their own citizens for corporate money.

And arbitrary government actions that are based on corruption rather than legitimate public purpose violate due process under both the federal Constitution and every state constitution.

The Twelve-Step Program for Stealing Your House (Not the Alcoholics Anonymous Kind)

The Kelo corruption wasn’t some one-off aberration. It’s the TEMPLATE. Every single one of these data center projects follows the same pattern. It’s like they all went to the same seminar: “Corporate Theft 101: Using Government as Your Personal Real Estate Agent.”

Step one: Corporation identifies land it wants. (”That subdivision would make a great server farm!”)

Step two: Corporation identifies local politicians who appear purchasable. (This step is easier than you’d think. Most politicians advertise their availability through campaign finance disclosures.)

Step three: Campaign contributions flow. (Legally! It’s all very legal! Just structured donations that definitely don’t constitute bribery because we’ve defined bribery in a way that excludes all the ways rich people buy politicians.)

Step four: Local politicians create or gain control of a “development authority” or similar governmental body. (Every state has slightly different names but they all do the same thing: provide legal cover for theft.)

Step five: Corporate executives or their proxies sit on that authority. (Just like how Pfizer’s VP George Milne sat on New London’s development board. Totally normal. No conflict of interest here. Just government officials who happen to work for the corporation benefiting from the government decisions they’re making.)

Step six: The authority declares the project serves “economic development” and therefore provides “public benefit.” (Jobs! Tax revenue! Economic growth! Never mind that a Costco also provides all those things.)

Step seven: Eminent domain gets deployed. (This is the part where armed government agents show up to inform you that your family home of 30 years now belongs to people who own more money than your town’s entire assessed property value.)

Step eight: Properties get seized. (The government takes your house. You get “fair market value” which is determined by the government. You cannot negotiate. You cannot refuse. You leave or they arrest you.)

Step nine: Land transfers to the corporation. (Usually for $1 or some other nominal fee because why pay market rates when you’ve captured the government.)

Step ten: Corporation gets massive tax exemptions for 10 to 20 years. (Because obviously a multi-billion-dollar data center needs tax breaks. How else will the investors afford their fourth vacation homes?)

Step eleven: The public pays for all the infrastructure upgrades. (New roads to the facility? Public expense. Upgraded power lines? Public expense. Water infrastructure? Public expense. The corporation pays for none of this.)

Step twelve: Corporation keeps all the profits. (Shocking twist: the economic benefits that supposedly justified the taking don’t actually benefit the public whose property and tax dollars funded everything.)

This isn’t conspiracy theory. This is their actual business model. It’s written into their development agreements. You can FOIA these documents. They spell it all out.

Billionaires figured out they don’t need to buy land at market rates anymore. They don’t need to negotiate with property owners. They don’t need to make compelling offers. They just need to capture local government. Buy the politicians (legally, through campaign contributions and speaking fees and consulting contracts and board positions after they leave office). Control the development authority. Get eminent domain deployed. And the courts say it’s all legal because five justices said so in 2005.

But it doesn’t have to stay legal. Because there are arguments that can beat this.

How a Broke Guy in a Hot Room Just Handed Lawyers the Kill Shot

After Kelo, the public lost their minds. People across America were furious that the Supreme Court had legalized theft. So 44 states (FORTY-FOUR) passed laws restricting eminent domain for private development. The backlash was massive and bipartisan because people really don’t like it when the government can steal their house to give it to Pfizer.

Georgia passed restrictions. Nevada passed restrictions. Utah passed restrictions. Each state’s law is slightly different (because state legislatures can’t just copy-paste, that would be too efficient), but they all share the same core principle: eminent domain cannot be used simply to transfer property from one private owner to another just because the government claims there will be economic benefits.

So here are the five legal arguments that can stop this. Lawyers: use all of them. Don’t pick your favorite. Use ALL FIVE. Belt and suspenders and a rope and some duct tape because we’re not taking chances.

Argument One: The Kill Shot

Make the government prove the public can actually use these data centers.

If it’s “public use” under the Fifth Amendment, then open the gates. Let the public walk in. Let them use the computing resources. Let them access the facilities their tax dollars subsidized and their property rights sacrificed for.

They can’t do that.

There are armed guards. Access is restricted to corporate employees only. You will be arrested if you approach the fence. So where exactly is the “public use”?

This argument is so simple a jury gets it instantly. A fifth grader understands it. And the government CANNOT answer it.

They’ll try. They’ll talk about jobs and tax revenue and economic development. But jobs aren’t public use. Tax revenue isn’t public use. If those things counted as public use, then every McDonald’s is public infrastructure and government can seize any property for any business that employs people.

Compare these data centers to ACTUAL public infrastructure:

Public roads? The public drives on them.
Public schools? The public learns in them.
Public libraries? The public walks in and uses them.
Public parks? The public literally uses them.
Data centers? Corporations profit from them. The public is explicitly excluded by armed guards.

This argument forces the government to either admit the data centers aren’t actually public use (which means the takings are unconstitutional) or prove the public can use them (which they can’t because ARMED GUARDS).

It’s a trap with no escape. Use it.

Argument Two: State Law Violations

These takings violate the laws that 44 states passed specifically to prevent this exact thing from happening.

Every one of those state legislatures was responding to Kelo. They were furious. Their constituents were furious. They passed laws to prevent their own governments from using eminent domain to steal property for private corporations.

And state courts have consistently held that economic benefits must be SECONDARY to actual public use. Private profit cannot be the primary purpose.

A data center that is:

• Owned by a private corporation

• Processing private data

• Serving private clients

• Generating private profits

• Excluding the public entirely with armed guards

...is definitionally NOT public use. Jobs and tax revenue are incidental. The corporation is the primary and sole beneficiary.

Research your specific state’s post-Kelo legislation and use it. The statutes are sitting right there. The state legislatures literally handed you the legal framework. Use it.

Argument Three: The McDonald’s Test

If job creation alone justifies eminent domain, then government can seize any property for any business.

McDonald’s creates jobs. Does that mean government can seize your house to build a McDonald’s?

Amazon warehouses create jobs. Can government seize your neighborhood to build one?

Casinos create jobs. Can Atlantic City seize the entire boardwalk for private gambling corporations? (Actually terrible example, they already did that, but you get the point.)

This is exactly what Justice O’Connor warned about in her Kelo dissent. If economic development alone satisfies “public use,” then the Public Use Clause means nothing. Any private project can be reframed as public benefit. The limit that the Founders wrote into the Constitution disappears.

Compare data centers to actual public infrastructure and the difference is obvious. Highways serve the public who use them. Schools serve the public who attend them. Data centers serve corporations who profit from them. One of these things is not like the others.

Argument Four: The Supreme Court Changed

All five Kelo majority justices are gone. Retired or dead. None of them are on the Court anymore.

The current Court is significantly more protective of property rights and more skeptical of broad government power. They’re more likely to rule that “public use” means ACTUAL public use, not theoretical economic benefits that might possibly maybe help the public indirectly through jobs.

Justice Clarence Thomas is still on the Court. He DISSENTED in Kelo. He already said this type of taking violates the Constitution. He’s on record. If this comes back to the Supreme Court, you start with one vote already locked in.

A challenge to these data center takings could narrow or overturn Kelo entirely. The Court’s composition has shifted. The political climate has shifted. Property rights are more protected now than in 2005.

Argument Five: Arbitrary and Capricious

These takings are arbitrary and capricious, which violates due process under both federal and state constitutions.

The location decisions aren’t based on resource optimization or public need or technical efficiency. They’re based on political corruption and which state governments are most willing to sell out their citizens.

Georgia, Nevada, and Utah are TERRIBLE locations for data centers. Hot climates. Water scarcity. Stressed power grids. These are literally the worst places you could build water-intensive, power-hungry facilities.

Meanwhile the optimal locations (Great Lakes region with unlimited cold water, cheap renewable power, ideal climate) aren’t seeing these massive projects because those states won’t use eminent domain for corporations.

That makes the takings arbitrary. The government can’t articulate a legitimate public purpose when the locations are chosen based on corruption rather than need. And arbitrary government action violates due process.

Use all five arguments. Don’t pick one. Don’t focus on your favorite. Use ALL OF THEM because this is belt-and-suspenders-and-duct-tape legal strategy and we’re fighting billionaires who have unlimited money for appeals.

What Lawyers Need to Do Right Now (Seriously, Right Now, Not “Eventually” or “When I Get Around To It”)

Georgia lawyers: There are families in Coweta County suing over Project Nightingale right now. THREE HUNDRED THIRTY FAMILIES getting displaced for corporate data centers. Contact them. Make these arguments under Georgia’s Landowner’s Bill of Rights Act and the 2015 constitutional amendment that was passed specifically to prevent this. The public use kill shot is your primary weapon but deploy all five arguments because this is war.

Nevada lawyers: Forty-nine thousand residents around Lake Tahoe are getting 75% of their electricity redirected to data centers while their energy prices jumped 77%. That’s a functional taking. Nevada’s 2008 constitutional amendment explicitly prohibits takings for private use and requires genuine public purpose beyond just economic development. Challenge it. Now. Not next month. Now.

Utah lawyers: Kevin O’Leary’s 40,000-acre approval appears to have violated due process. Multiple sources report the decision was already made before the public hearing where residents showed up to protest. That’s challengeable. So is approving a project that will raise the state’s carbon emissions by 64% and cover 16% of the Great Salt Lake in solar panels, all for private corporate profit. Someone in Utah needs to file this case yesterday.

Lawyers in all 44 states with post-Kelo restrictions: If you see similar data center projects using eminent domain or displacing residents through utility redirection or resource reallocation, these same arguments apply. Research your specific state’s post-Kelo legislation. The statutes exist. They were passed to prevent EXACTLY THIS. Force the government to follow its own laws.

The first argument (the kill shot) is the weapon. If it’s public use, open the gates and let the public use it. They can’t. Because armed guards. So it’s not public use. So the taking violates the Fifth Amendment. Make them answer that question in open court in front of a jury. What Everyone Else Needs to Do

Send it to civil liberties groups, both national (ACLU, though they’re sometimes useless on property rights but might surprise us) and state-level organizations that actually care about this stuff.

Send it to local journalists covering these projects in Georgia, Nevada, Utah, and anywhere else this is happening. Real journalists, not the stenographers who rewrite press releases. The ones who actually investigate things.

Send it to state legislators who voted for post-Kelo restrictions. Tell them their laws are being violated and they need to do something about it. Politicians respond to pressure. Apply pressure.

Send it to anyone you know in the affected areas. The 330 families in Georgia need lawyers who understand these arguments. The 49,000 Nevada residents losing their electricity need legal representation. The Utah protesters who got ignored at the public hearing need to know there’s a legal path to fight this.

Property rights groups need this legal framework. Environmental activists fighting these projects need to understand the takings might be unconstitutional. Local governments need to know they can’t just hand land to corporations anymore.

Make it politically costly for local officials to sell out their constituents. Show up to local government meetings where these decisions get made. They’re poorly attended precisely because officials count on citizens not paying attention. Surprise them. Show up. Bring friends. Force them to explain in public why they’re using eminent domain for private corporations. Force them to explain why data centers get priority over residents for power and water. Make them answer. Record it. Post it. Make it go viral.

But it’s not public use. And a broke journalist in a motel room with no car and broken infected wisdom teeth who gave up a corner office to write about eminent domain law just handed you the legal arguments to prove it.

Some days I question this decision. Usually when the wisdom teeth pain spikes and I remember my dentist won’t prescribe anything beyond aspirin. Or when it’s hot enough in here to bake bread and the fan has given up entirely. Or when I remember that corner office had central air and probably came with a dental plan that covered actual pain management.

But someone has to document what’s being done to the 330 families in Georgia, the 49,000 residents in Nevada, the people in Utah, and the thousands more coming. Someone has to hand lawyers the arguments to fight back. Someone has to explain that this isn’t capitalism or free markets or economic development but technocratic oligarchy using state violence to steal from citizens so billionaire tech bros can build the dystopia their grandfathers dreamed about.

The 330 families in Georgia have a lawsuit and a broke journalist in a hot room with broken infected wisdom teeth who figured out the kill shot legal argument while listening to a $37 fan slowly die.

Not exactly a fair fight. But neither was New London, and Susette Kelo still sued. So here we are.

I am writing this through a lovely antibiotic haze that makes my screen look like I am viewing it through a shower door. Possibly through two shower doors. The surgery prep drugs are doing interesting things to my vision, which is either a fascinating side effect or I am just going blind. Hard to tell. Could be both. Either way, I feel like absolute garbage right now and this article is probably not going to represent my usual standards of excellence. (The joke here is that nothing I write represents excellence. Excellence left the building with Elvis a long time ago.)

But we need to talk about something that has been bothering me for years, something that got whitewashed so thoroughly that most Christians have no idea they are reading sanitized scripture, something that raises a question nobody in institutional Christianity wants to answer because the answer leads somewhere very uncomfortable. If you cannot serve two masters, why were the Levites making sacrifices to a fallen angel? And why does nobody want to talk about the possibility that this practice never actually stopped?

One Goat for God, One Goat for the Demon in the Desert

Your English Bible tells you about the Day of Atonement in Leviticus 16 like it is a clean symbolic ritual. Two goats. One gets sacrificed to God. The other becomes the “scapegoat” and gets sent into the wilderness carrying the sins of Israel. Makes sense in a religious studies class sort of way. Symbolic purification. Moving on.

Azazel shows up in the Book of Enoch (you know, that book the institutional church decided you should not read) as one of the Watchers, the fallen angels who came down and slept with human women and taught forbidden knowledge and created the Nephilim. Azazel specifically gets credit for teaching humans warfare and cosmetics, because apparently fallen angels have diverse skill sets and sometimes those skills include foundation matching and stabbing people.

So the ritual is this: The high priest takes two goats. Identical goats. He casts lots over them. One lot for YHWH. One lot for Azazel. The goat that gets the YHWH lot gets slaughtered on the altar. The goat that gets the Azazel lot gets the sins of the nation symbolically transferred to it, and then it gets sent out into the desert, to the place where Azazel is bound, carrying those sins TO him.

That is not a metaphor. That is a delivery service. One goat to God, one goat to the demon in the desert, and the text presents this as if it is perfectly normal and commanded and holy.

Christian apologists will bend themselves into theological pretzels trying to explain this away. They will tell you Azazel just means “complete removal” (it does not). They will tell you it means “rocky precipice” (it does not). They will tell you it is symbolic of Christ removing sin (which is a creative retrofitting of Christian theology onto a Jewish ritual that predates Christ by over a thousand years and also does not explain why you would name Geography after a fallen angel).

You do not perform a parallel ritual with two identical animals if one is going to God and the other is going to Geography. That is not how ancient near eastern religion worked. The parallelism IS the point. The equal treatment IS the point. One for the Lord. One for the Other Guy. And if you think the Israelites did not understand exactly what they were doing, you have not been paying attention to how much time the Old Testament spends yelling at them for doing exactly this kind of thing.

Marduk Just Changed His Name Tag to YHWH

Which brings us to the golden calf. Except it was not a calf, and the Bible memory holes the whole thing in a way that should make you deeply suspicious. The Hebrew word is “egel” which means young bull, and that bull represents something very specific. Some scholars connect it directly to Marduk, the Babylonian god who supposedly defeated Tiamat and created the world from her corpse. Marduk, who was really just another name for the same fallen angel that shows up across every pagan pantheon. Marduk, who is Lucifer, who is Satan.

When Israel makes a golden bull at the base of Sinai and declares “these are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt,” they are serving two masters. Not confused. Not accidentally. They know exactly what they are doing. They are worshiping YHWH with one hand and a fallen angel with the other, and the northern kingdom kept this going for CENTURIES. Golden bulls in Dan and Bethel. Sacrifices to them ALONGSIDE the prescribed YHWH worship. Two masters. Both getting their cut. It was official state religion until the Assyrians showed up and ended the experiment by ending the kingdom.

And then the Bible just stops talking about it. Like it never happened. Like generations of Israelites were not serving two masters while claiming to be the chosen people. The text gives you the story, shows you the consequences, and then moves on real quick, like a parent changing the subject after a kid asks why daddy drinks so much.

You cannot serve two masters. Jesus said that. This was not new theology. This was Him calling out what Israel had been doing for a thousand years. Making offerings to YHWH and making offerings to Azazel. Worshiping the God of Abraham and worshiping Marduk. Both. At the same time. Serving two masters. And apparently you COULD do this for centuries and still claim to be the chosen people, right up until someone shows up and says no, actually, you cannot do that, you have to pick one, and maybe, just maybe, certain people never actually picked one, they just got better at hiding the other.

How the King James Translators Made a Demon Disappear

The translators who changed “Azazel” to “scapegoat” knew exactly what they were doing. They were not confused about the Hebrew. The King James translators knew. The church fathers knew. They all knew that if Christians understood that the Levitical priesthood was performing parallel sacrifices, one to YHWH and one to a fallen angel, people might start asking uncomfortable questions about what it means to serve two masters, and whether certain people ever actually stopped doing exactly that.

But we are not supposed to talk about that. We are supposed to read “scapegoat” and think “symbolic purification” and move on. We are supposed to see centuries of golden bull worship alongside YHWH worship and think “ancient history, they learned their lesson.” We are supposed to ignore the fact that the Bible itself documents Israel serving two masters for longer than they served one, and we are definitely not supposed to wonder if maybe that practice continued, if maybe certain people are still making their offerings to YHWH on the Sabbath and their other offerings somewhere else when nobody is looking.

These Antibiotics Are Trying to Kill Me But at Least Bacteria Are Real

I am probably going to take a few days off from publishing because I feel absolutely awful right now. These antibiotics are wrecking me. I cannot wait for this surgery to be done and over with so I can actually go see a cardiologist and find out what the hell is going on with my heart after the endocarditis ravaged my left ventricle. And to anyone out there who claims bacteria are not real and that antibiotics do not save lives, I want you to remember you said that next time you get a staph infection in your heart that almost kills you. Because I was dumb enough to believe a Rumble video about alternative health and now I am probably going to die before I see the other side of 50 in ten years time. Bacteria are real. Antibiotics work. Sometimes conventional medicine is the only thing standing between you and a very preventable death. Learn from my mistakes.

This morning I woke up at 3:00 a.m. because the air conditioner in my motel room is broken. The elderly woman in the next room is from a tropical nation known for being extremely hot, and she must be terribly homesick because she has her thermostat cranked up so high that the drywall is visibly sweating. If I could somehow manipulate gravity to the point where I could manage to crack an egg open against the wall, it would fry instantly like a hot pan.

(Boy, wouldn’t that be funny if I could actually manipulate gravity like that. But I am not a solar-system-sized cosmic horror incarnated as a man, so I can’t.)

I actually thought this as I lay there in bed. It was a strange thought, but then again, I am a strange man.

While racking my brain for something funny I could post about the Hanta Virus because my social media feed was completely blown up with memes, I remembered some silly garbage about an old Japanese Anime cartoon I used to watch as a kid called Hamtaro.

Okay, fine, I was in my teens and had no business watching this show. Sue me. I was still a kid at heart, so it counts.

It is a cute show that features a cute hamster named Hamtaro who goes on cute adventures with his cute hamster friends. I really loved the animation style and lighthearted appeal of the show, and it got me thinking about when I actually WAS a child, specifically the terrible, horrible events of my fifth-grade summer.

My sister was away attending some sort of summer day camp activity thing where normal, well-adjusted children go to hang out with other normal, well-adjusted children. My mom was, as usual, too busy cleaning or doing dishes or crying in the bathroom because she had been tricked or perhaps threatened into marrying my father.

This was my time to shine…

I had been planning this operation for several days. My grandmother had recently bought me this cool NASA t-shirt and a matching NASA-emblazoned little boy ballcap. It was a strange dichotomy growing up in a trailer directly across the street from my grandparents’ mansion. For example, I wore hand-me-down clothes, but I had a $3,000 computer that Grandma bought me for my birthday.

If memory serves me correctly, my sister’s hamster was literally named “Hamster.” I snuck into her bedroom, popped open the latch of the little golden-colored cage, and reached in to pick him up. I made sure that he was in peak physical condition from his months of rigorous training on the squeaky wheel. Hamster passed my intensive pre-flight physical examination, and it was time to prepare for launch.

The payload system was fairly advanced considering the rocket itself was basically a two-foot-tall toilet paper tube covered in stickers to make it look like a Saturn V. It featured a transparent capsule that would eject after the second-stage rocket engine died off somewhere around 3,000 feet in the air. Upon ejection and freefall, a tertiary micro-rocket—which through arcane means I am not at liberty to discuss due to NASA security clearance issues—would pop off, a tiny set of orange and white parachutes would deploy, and the capsule would slowly drift back to Earth.

There, a dedicated team of hamster medical professionals and top-tier scientists (okay, it was just me) would rush to collect our intrepid hero. We would whisk him away to the waiting paparazzi who would photograph his triumphant return to terra firma.

He would spend the next several years doing television interviews and the college lecture circuit, and he would be called a “hero” by anyone and everyone for the rest of his days.

However, this is not how things went.

I loaded Hamster into the capsule. I made sure to pack him a little lunch of sunflower seeds for the trip, and I carefully padded him in with toilet paper to cushion his little hamster body from the massive amount of G-forces he was about to endure. Thankfully, Hamster was in peak physical condition after months of running on that blasted wheel nonstop all freaking day and half the damn night, so I was highly confident that he would return safely.

I am not entirely certain of the exact medical physics involved, but I am fairly sure that the hamster actually died of a heart attack mid-flight while the rocket engines were still blasting. He was perfectly stiff upon landing, and it was not from rigor mortis. It was too soon. I think it was from the pure shock of having just been launched at 100 miles per hour into the stratosphere by some towering, hulking giant in a device that his little hamster brain could not have possibly understood.

When I recovered the capsule and saw that he was dead, I immediately freaked out and went into full-on panic mode. My dad was a violent drunk who would beat me for any reason he could find. I knew that if my sister found out I had just murdered her pet while larping as a NASA aerospace engineer, my hide would be thoroughly tanned until the first day of school came around in September. I had to figure out a cover-up, and I had to do it fast.

Luckily, my friend a few houses down owned several hamsters and had been begging me for weeks to loan him a copy of my favorite Super Nintendo game. I hopped on my bicycle and high-tailed it down the street with the game cartridge in my back pocket, pounding furiously at his front door.

He answered, and I screamed, “I NEED A HAMSTER!” with tears streaming down my cheeks. He had absolutely no idea what the hell I was talking about and looked at me with an expression of pure bewilderment. Then, I pulled out my copy of Final Fantasy III and said, “I WILL GIVE YOU THIS FOR ONE OF YOUR HAMSTERS.”

That was all I needed to say. No questions asked. Done deal.

I went back home as fast as my little legs could pedal. I snuck into my sister’s room, put the replacement hamster in place, closed the little golden cage trapdoor, and then walked out into the woods behind my Grandma’s house to hold a hero’s funeral for the little astronaut.

It was a very humbling moment for me. I had never been the cause of the death of a living being before, other than a few bugs here and there. Hamster’s stiff, soft little body lay there in a small plastic sewing kit box that I had turned into a makeshift coffin. I felt so bad. I cried. I didn’t want to hurt this little guy. I just wanted him to be a hero. I wanted him to be able to do what I wanted to do myself, which was to go to space and see the stars up close and personal with his own two little black hamster eyes. Instead, all I did was end his little life prematurely.

I don’t know what made me think of this today, but I am sitting here at this motel desk on my laptop typing this, and a part of me feels like crying all over again over this little, twenty-plus-years-dead, thirty-dollar pet store hamster who was the first, and probably only, hamster astronaut in the history of our neighborhood.

Three major world religions. Thousands of years of theological scholarship. Billions of current believers. Ancient texts that actually describe these events using terms like “fallen angels” and “demons.”

Why the Ancient Alien Theory Is Garbage Anyway

Even ignoring the demon question, Sitchin’s whole story (which every Ancient Aliens episode cites) is weapons-grade stupid.

According to Sitchin, aliens came to Earth to mine gold because their planet’s atmosphere was failing. So they genetically engineered humans to do the mining.

Sitchin claimed he translated ancient Sumerian texts proving this. Except Sitchin couldn’t actually read Sumerian (real scholars proved this decades ago). He made it up. All of it. The History Channel knows and cites him anyway.

But even if it were true, think about what genetic engineering actually means. You’re designing a new organism from scratch at the molecular level. Hundreds if not THOUSANDS of years of work. Extensive trial and error. Complex biochemistry.

Any species with faster-than-light travel mastered robotics millions of years earlier. Robots don’t die, sleep, eat, or rebel. They just mine.

Why would anyone choose biological slaves over robots? They wouldn’t. Unless the point was never about mining.

So these “advanced” aliens bypassed trillions of tons of accessible space gold, landed on Earth (overcoming gravity), genetically engineered humans over thousands of years, and put us to work digging underground.

No civilization that dumb could cross the galaxy. The gold story is a lie. Which means they weren’t here for gold. So what were they doing?

Ancient Aliens won’t say that because the production company is called Prometheus Entertainment.

You Don’t Accidentally Name Your Company After Satan

Prometheus stole fire from the gods in Greek mythology. In occult traditions, he’s explicitly identified with Lucifer. The light-bearer. The fallen angel who offered forbidden knowledge to humanity.

That’s not accident. That’s editorial policy.

What Ancient Babylon Was Actually Doing

When Ancient Aliens shows you Sumer and Babylon, they talk about ziggurats and advanced astronomy. Helpful aliens sharing knowledge.

They don’t mention temple prostitution (standard practice). Child sacrifice (routine, not rare). Blood magic. The Tower of Babel (humanity trying to reach heaven through technology instead of God). Nephilim giants. Fallen angels breeding with humans.

The Bible describes this period as so corrupted by demonic influence that God drowned the planet. Ancient Aliens calls it “extraterrestrial guidance.”

Same texts. One interpretation is thousands of years old. The other was invented by Sitchin (who couldn’t read Sumerian) and promoted by Prometheus Entertainment.

Seventeen Years of Programming You to Accept Demons as Aliens

This isn’t about investigating mysteries. It’s programming.

Seventeen years of normalizing that idea.

When the government announces “disclosure” (and they’re building toward it), millions will say “just like Ancient Aliens predicted.” When entities appear offering solutions to humanity’s problems, people will line up.

Aleister Crowley said in the 1900s: “The spirits of the future will be called space people.”

In 1918, he drew an entity from his magical workings called LAM. It looks exactly like a gray alien. Decades before UFOs became pop culture.

The mystery schools planned this rebrand for over a century. Ancient Aliens is preparing the mass market.

The Proof Is the Silence

If Ancient Aliens wanted to investigate ancient mysteries, they’d cover every theory. The demonic interpretation isn’t fringe. It’s the most widely believed explanation on Earth. Billions of people. Thousands of years of teaching. Actual ancient texts.

Seventeen years. Two hundred and fifty episodes. Vikings with anti-gravity got an episode. Moses with energy weapons got an episode. Bigfoot as an alien got an episode.

Demons masquerading as aliens to deceive humanity? Seventeen years of silence.

I was maybe six years old when this started. I did not want to sit still. I wanted to watch cartoons. I wanted to play outside. I wanted to do literally anything except listen to some old lady read ancient words I barely understood.

She did not care what I wanted.

“Come here, Lily.”

And I came. Every single Sunday. For YEARS.

She would read to me. Not the kid-friendly Bible story books with the cartoon Noah and his happy zoo animals. The actual Bible. Genesis. Exodus. The Psalms. Proverbs. The Gospels. Revelation. She read it in that old King James language that sounds like Shakespeare if Shakespeare was also giving you life advice that could save your soul. “Thou shalt not” this and “it came to pass” that.

I complained. A lot. I whined. I fidgeted. I asked if we were almost done approximately nine thousand times per session.

She kept reading.

And here’s the thing nobody tells you about sitting in your grandmother’s living room listening to Scripture for hours (and yes, it was HOURS, she read slow because she was going blind but refused to admit it): it gets inside you. The words embed themselves in your brain like muscle memory. You don’t even realize it’s happening. One day you’re seven years old barely paying attention while she reads Proverbs, and fifteen years later you’re in a college classroom listening to your professor explain why moral relativism is actually very sophisticated and enlightened, and something in your brain goes “nope.”

Because you remember. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Not the fear of your professor’s opinion. Not the fear of seeming unsophisticated. The fear of GOD.

My grandmother died when I was 22. She left me that Bible. The one with her notes. The one we read together every Sunday for eleven years. I still have it. I still read it. And I am starting to understand what she was doing.

She was vaccinating me.

When Everyone Around You is Sick and You’re Not

I am 23 years old. I am a journalism student at a secular university (not naming it because I still have to graduate without being expelled for thoughtcrime, and also because the last time I mentioned where I go to school, three different middle-aged men found my Substack account and started sending me messages so frequently that I stopped logging in altogether, which is exactly the kind of thing that makes you understand why women lie about their location on dating apps). I am watching my entire generation lose their minds in real time and I am one of maybe six people in my program who can still think straight.

These are not dumb people. These are smart, capable, talented young adults who got straight As in high school and scored well on their SATs and got into competitive programs. They can write. They can research. They can construct arguments.

They just can’t QUESTION anything.

A professor tells them that America is systemically racist and irredeemably evil. They nod. They feel guilty for being white (most of them are white). They write papers about their privilege. Nobody asks “if America is so evil why do people literally die trying to get here” because that question makes you a fascist apparently.

A professor tells them that Christianity is oppressive and patriarchal and responsible for most of the world’s suffering. They nod. They turn in their crucifixes (if they had any). They feel very enlightened. Nobody says “wait, Christianity literally built Western civilization and the concept of human rights and hospitals and universities” because historical facts are now considered hate speech.

And here is the part that breaks my heart: they are MISERABLE.

Every single one of them. The ones with the blue hair and the nose rings and the pronoun pins and the “question everything” (except their professors) bumper stickers. They are anxious. They are depressed. They are on medication. They are in therapy. They are having panic attacks about climate change and their student loans and whether they used the right pronouns in their essay about deconstructing the patriarchy.

They have NOTHING to anchor to. No foundation. No Truth with a capital T. Just vibes and feelings and whatever their professor said this week.

Speaking of professors, I had one (a woman in her fifties with gray hair and Birkenstocks and the emotional stability of a wet paper bag) break down crying in class last semester because a student (not me, but I was thinking it) suggested that maybe we should be objective in our journalism rather than activist. She literally CRIED and said “objectivity is a white supremacist myth” and then canceled class because she was too emotional to continue.

This woman has a PhD. This woman teaches journalism. This woman is training the next generation of reporters.

We are doomed. (Or we would be if there weren’t a few of us who had grandmothers with Bibles.)

The Part Where I Connect the Dots for You

Here is what my grandmother understood that modern parents apparently do not: if you do not give your children God, someone else will give them something worse.

Nature abhors a vacuum. The human soul needs to worship something. If you don’t raise your kids to worship the God who created them and loves them and has a plan for their lives, they will worship something else. And that something else is usually:

1. Themselves (narcissism).

2. Their feelings (emotional instability).

3. Their professors (intellectual slavery).

4. The state (totalitarianism).

Their identity (obsession with pronouns and labels and making their entire personality about being “queer” even though they have never dated anyone of the same sex, they just like the attention).

Social media (validation addiction).

Celebrity culture (worshiping people who would not spit on them if they were on fire).

Notice what all these false gods have in common. They make people MISERABLE. They promise fulfillment and deliver anxiety. They promise freedom and deliver slavery. They promise happiness and deliver depression.

The God of the Bible promises something different. Peace. Purpose. Truth. A foundation that does not shift when the culture changes (and the culture ALWAYS changes, ask anyone with a tribal tattoo from 2003).

My classmates do not have that. They are building their lives on sand. Every new social trend, every new political movement, every new academic theory, the sand shifts. They scramble to keep up. They update their beliefs like they update their phones (constantly and without thinking about it). They are exhausted.

I am not exhausted. I am watching this circus from a position of stability because my grandmother spent eleven years reading me a book that never changes.

She gave me a foundation. These kids have nothing but sand and anxiety meds and a deep spiritual hunger they are trying to fill with activism and identity politics and TikTok trends that will be irrelevant in six months.

What Your Grandkids Will Remember

Parents. Grandparents. Anyone raising children right now. Listen to me.

Sunday school is not enough. Dropping them off at youth group once a week is not enough. Sending them to Christian school is not enough (some of those are worse than public schools, trust me). You have to actually TEACH them. You have to actually TALK to them about God. About Scripture. About what is TRUE versus what is popular.

Because if you do not, I can tell you EXACTLY what will happen. I am watching it happen to my entire generation.

They will go to college. They will meet a professor who is very smart and very confident and very wrong. They will not have the framework to recognize the lies. They will accept everything they are told because they have never been taught to test ideas against Scripture. They will become activists for causes they do not understand. They will destroy relationships over politics. They will put pronouns in their email signatures. They will get face piercings and dye their hair colors not found in nature and join protests against things they cannot define.

And they will be miserable.

I am not exaggerating. I am not being dramatic. I am describing what I see every single day in my classes. These are lost, hurting, confused young people who were never given an anchor. They are drowning and they do not even know it. They think the drowning is just what life feels like.

Your kids do not have to end up like that.

Read them the Bible. Take them to church (a real church, not one of those hip trendy churches where the pastor wears skinny jeans and talks about his feelings for forty minutes). Teach them to pray. Teach them that God is REAL and that His Word is TRUE and that feelings are not facts and that truth is not determined by a vote.

Give them what my grandmother gave me: a foundation that will hold when everything else collapses.

Because everything else WILL collapse. The culture is collapsing right now. The institutions are failing. The schools are teaching lies. The churches are compromising. The media is propaganda. Everything is chaos.

But the Word of the Lord stands forever. That is not a metaphor. That is not poetry. That is FACT.

My grandmother knew that. She made sure I knew it too. And because of her, I can sit in a classroom full of people who think men can get pregnant and I can think “no they cannot” without having an existential crisis about it.

That is the gift she gave me. That is the gift you need to give your kids.

The Part Where I Ask You For Money (But Like, In a Nice Way)

The pyramids? Aliens. Stonehenge? Aliens. Your grandmother’s suspiciously perfect apple pie? Probably aliens.

I used to think this show was fascinating. Back when I was a secular idiot who didn’t believe in God because I fell for the Satanic psyop that turned everything into a clownworld disaster, I would watch episode after episode and nod along like it all made perfect sense. Of course the Nazca Lines were alien landing strips. What else could they possibly be? (Ceremonial pathways for religious rituals, but who has time for boring archaeological consensus when you can have ALIENS.)

Then I started actually reading the source material these people keep citing. Zecharia Sitchin’s books, specifically. For those unfamiliar, Sitchin was the guy who claimed to translate ancient Sumerian texts and discovered that humanity was created by aliens called the Anunnaki to mine gold for them. We were, according to Sitchin, literally engineered to be slave labor for extraterrestrial overlords.

Here’s the problem. Actual scholars who can read Sumerian (not self-taught hobbyists with a theory to sell) have looked at Sitchin’s translations and determined they are, to use the technical academic term, completely made up. Michael Heiser, who had a PhD in Hebrew Bible and Ancient Semitic Languages, spent years debunking Sitchin’s work point by point. Turns out when you actually know how to read ancient Sumerian, the texts say nothing about alien genetic engineering programs. They say a lot about gods and creation myths and flood narratives, but nothing about Nibiru or ancient astronauts.

So Sitchin was either deliberately lying or so incompetent at translation that his work is useless. Either way, the entire foundation of the ancient alien theory is built on fabricated evidence. But the show keeps airing. And airing. And airing.

My dad is obsessed with Ancient Aliens. Completely obsessed. He watches every episode multiple times. He has theories. He has IDEAS. He is convinced, and I am not making this up, that he himself might be an ancient alien.

I have a different theory.

The point is that Ancient Aliens has done its job. The show exists to normalize the idea that humanity was created by extraterrestrial beings to serve as their slaves. It takes an explicitly Satanic worldview (humans as property, created for exploitation) and packages it as quirky alternative history. Everyone and their grandmother has watched this show. It’s become pop culture. It’s become a meme. And while everyone is laughing at Giorgio’s hair, they’re also absorbing the underlying message: maybe we aren’t made in the image of God. Maybe we’re just biological robots engineered by superior beings.

But here’s where it gets really interesting.

Aleister Crowley, the famous occultist and self-proclaimed “wickedest man in the world,” once said that in the future, spirits and demons would be rebranded. The exact quote is: “The spirits of the future will be called space people.” Crowley knew what was coming. He knew that as the world became more secular and “scientific,” people would stop believing in demons and devils and fallen angels. So the entities he spent his life summoning would need a new marketing campaign.

It’s a gray alien. The classic big-headed, big-eyed, spindly-limbed gray alien that has become the standard pop culture image of extraterrestrial life. Crowley drew that thing in 1918, decades before the modern UFO phenomenon began. He wasn’t channeling aliens. He was summoning demons. He just knew that eventually everyone would call them aliens instead.

That’s what did it for me. That’s when I realized the aliens are demons and this whole thing is a massive spiritual deception that’s been in the works for over a century.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. The government’s recent push for UFO disclosure is just a distraction from the Epstein files and elite corruption. And yes, that’s definitely part of it. Nothing distracts from a pedophile blackmail network quite like claiming we’ve made contact with non-human intelligence. But I think there’s more to it than misdirection.

My guess? We are less than five to ten years away from full disclosure. All these Satan-worshiping witch cult members who have been summoning these demonic entities from hell for decades are going to stand in front of cameras and announce that first contact has been made. The aliens are here. They want to help us. They have advanced technology and wisdom. They’ve been watching us for millennia. And because our politicians have made such a complete mess of the world (wars, poverty, climate change, economic collapse), we should probably let these helpful space friends take the reins of power and guide us into a new era of peace and prosperity.

Don’t fall for it.

The day that happens is the day you need to grab your rifle and start heading to Washington, or we are going to witness what the pre-flood world really looked like. A nightmare hellscape where human beings were farmed like cattle and eaten by demonic blood magician monsters.

Yeah, this sounds like science fiction or fantasy, and that’s exactly the point. The pre-flood world WAS a freak show. Read the Book of Enoch if you want an idea of how genuinely weird things were back then. Shapeshifting giants. Advanced technology. Magic that actually worked. Fallen angels breeding with humans. Pretty much every bizarre element you’d expect to see in a Lord of the Rings sequel to Star Wars, except it was real.

The world is a weird place. It’s full of weird stuff.

He was painting what he saw in visions of the demonic realm. And if you think those nightmare creatures couldn’t manifest in our reality, you haven’t been paying attention to what the global elite have been doing behind closed doors.

This article is kind of dragging on at this point, and honestly the only reason I wrote it was to act as a segue to my new AWESOME AS HECK music video from Jesus and the Nazareths. I went back to my old Rolling Stones and Iggy Pop rock and roll roots and made something I think you’re really going to love. It’s got everything: guitars, spiritual warfare, and a beat you can dance to while contemplating the impending demonic invasion disguised as alien disclosure.

And look, I know this whole article sounds completely insane. Ancient aliens are actually ancient demons. The government is preparing us for fake first contact. Crowley predicted the whole thing. Your dad might think he’s an extraterrestrial (just me?). The pre-flood world was a cosmic horror story.

But here’s the thing. I used to advise a Taiwanese billionaire on tech stocks. I had a career trajectory that would have made me very wealthy. I gave all that up to warn people about exactly this kind of spiritual deception. Not because I’m crazy, but because I’ve seen how the elite operate. I’ve seen what they believe. I’ve read their books and studied their symbols and tracked their money.

They worship something. And whatever it is, it isn’t God.

So when the government finally announces that we’re not alone in the universe and our new alien friends are here to help, remember this article. Remember Crowley’s prediction. Remember Lam. Remember that the same people who covered up Epstein’s client list are the ones telling you to trust the space people.

And maybe buy a rifle. Just in case.

Writing about politics in the year 2026 is about as rewarding as performing a root canal on yourself with a rusty spoon. Over the last two months, we have watched 200 paid subscribers hit the cancel button with the indignant fury of a toddler denied a second helping of paste. Apparently, pointing out that both the Democratic and Republican parties are effectively two heads of the same hydra is considered too controversial. These people (the politicians, not you, although maybe some of you) are busy stripping the copper wiring out of the American taxpayer’s house to sell it to foreign conglomerates and governments left and right. Trying to warn people this is happening just pisses them off so much they hit that cancel button without even considering the fact that independent non-partisan freelance journalists have to live in rundown motel rooms and ride buses because we cannot afford health insurance let alone food.

It is a fascinating study in cognitive dissonance. People claim they want the truth, but what they actually want is a comfortable bedtime story that confirms their specific brand of tribalism. When you tell them that the entire beltway is essentially a liquidation firm for the nation’s future, they do not get mad at the thieves. They get mad at the guy holding the flashlight. So, screw you to all of you that canceled because you cannot stand being told that ALL politicians are corrupt to the core. We are done playing the partisan game for a minute. We are going to pivot back to writing about weird stuff related to the Bible, and this week’s topic is Vampires.

Speaking of blood-sucking parasites.

Dead Wrong About the Living Dead

So you think vampires aren’t real, right? WRONG. Dead wrong. Get it? That is a pun because vampires are the living dead.

The standard Hollywood version of a vampire is a sanitized caricature. You see pale teenagers brooding in rain-soaked parking lots or elegant counts in velvet capes. But the ancient reality found in scripture is far more terrifying and grounded in a cosmic legal framework. The Bible frames the consumption of blood not as a gothic romance, but as a direct violation of the source of life itself.

That was the law. Now let us talk about what happens when people ignore it for a few thousand years.

The Babylonian Blood Magick Murder Cult

When you fast-forward to the Book of Revelation, the narrative shifts from a quiet prohibition to judgment day. This is not just a collection of metaphors. It is a literal catalog of blood. We see rivers of blood, oceans of blood, and blood moons. If you have ever wondered why the apocalypse looks like a slasher film, it is because the debt is finally being called in.

It is the final word on the parasitic entities that have operated from the shadows for millennia. These groups use the life force of the masses to sustain their own grotesque, artificial longevity. When the bowls of wrath are poured out and the waters turn to blood, the angel explicitly states that it is a fitting punishment. “They have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink. It is what they deserve” (Revelation 16:6).

The people of the Middle Ages understood this threat on a very practical level. While the theologians debated the finer points of eschatology, the peasants were dealing with corpses that would not stay buried. They did not wait for divine intervention. They went to the blacksmith.

Hardware for the Undead

This ancient fear of the predatory dead was not confined to parchment and ink. It manifested in very physical, very brutal ways throughout history. Long before modern media turned the vampire into a misunderstood anti-hero, the people of the Middle Ages took the threat with a level of hardware-store seriousness that would make a modern contractor blush. They did not have a paranormal investigator to call. They had a blacksmith and a shovel.

If a village suspected a corpse was refusing to stay in the ground, they did not wait for a debate on the philosophy of the soul. They handled it with iron. Archaeologists across Europe have spent decades unearthing vampire burials that look like scenes out of a nightmare.

This was not just a post-mortem insult. The goal was to nail the soul to the earth, literally pinning the spirit into the dirt so it could not wander or return to the house of the living. Other bodies have been found with large bricks forced into their mouths. This was a practice intended to stop the shroud-eaters (actual technical term used by medieval chroniclers, I am not making this up) from chewing their way out of the grave.

Perhaps most disturbing are the burials where iron bars were forged around the arms and legs of the deceased. These people were literally caged in the earth. The logic was simple. If the dead decided to wake up, they would find themselves bound by cold metal and six feet of packed soil.

Fast forward a few centuries to Victorian London, where the problem had evolved. The corpses were no longer staying in the ground. They were leaping over walls and spitting fire at people in the streets.

Spring-Heeled Jack and the Fortean Predator

The line between folklore and documented weirdness gets blurry when you look at cases like Spring-Heeled Jack. In the 1830s, London was terrorized by a figure who looked like a gentleman but behaved like a demon. He had glowing red eyes, claws that felt like cold iron, and the ability to leap over ten-foot walls with ease (which is more impressive than it sounds when you remember that Victorian men wore top hats and carried walking sticks everywhere).

The attacks started in 1837 and continued sporadically for decades. By the 1880s, the attacks took on a much darker character. Women were found in alleyways with their throats torn open. The bodies were drained of blood.

Now here is where it gets interesting. A substantial number of researchers and contemporary witnesses believed that Spring-Heeled Jack and Jack the Ripper were the same entity. The timeline matches. The methodology overlaps. The supernatural elements that surrounded both cases share too many similarities to dismiss. Jack the Ripper’s victims were not just murdered.

While Spring-Heeled Jack did not fit the classic Dracula mold in his earlier manifestations (no neck-biting, just terrifying people and setting them on fire with his mouth), his later activities paint a very different picture. The progression from leaping demon to blood-draining killer suggests either an evolution or a revelation of what he actually was all along. By the end, he was drinking blood in the London fog and leaving corpses behind that looked like they had been visited by Dracula himself.

Which brings us back to those 200 subscribers who hit the cancel button. The vampires are still here. They just wear suits now instead of capes, and they drain bank accounts instead of throats (although given enough time, the effect is roughly the same).

The Parasitic Reality

The world is still full of parasites. Some live in stone coffins, some live in the halls of Congress, and some just cancel their subscriptions because they cannot handle the truth about their political idols. They are all versions of the same thing. They are entities that take without giving. They drain the life of the collective to fuel their own narrow interests.

They want you to believe that the theft of your taxpayer assets is just policy and that the corruption of your leaders is just politics. But if you look through the lens of history and scripture, you see it for what it really is. It is a feeding frenzy.

We have spent months trying to point out the logistics of this theft, only to be met with the digital equivalent of a wooden stake through the heart from our own subscribers. But we are not going away. We are just going to keep digging into the weird, the occult, and the suppressed until the truth is as plain as a blood moon in a midnight sky.

Lily (who edits these articles when she is not riding the bus system that apparently operates on a schedule known only to the bus drivers and possibly a cryptid) is less than a year from her bachelor’s degree in journalism. She would very much like to avoid student loans and also maybe own a vehicle that does not require exact change and a prayer. The Wise Wolf would like to stop coughing and maybe see a doctor about it, which requires the kind of health insurance that does not come with a disclaimer written in crayon.

A friend turned me onto a new AI video generation tool yesterday. It is the same one Iran has apparently been using to make their political videos, which is a sentence I never expected to write, and which, when I read it back to myself, made me consider going outside for the first time in a week.

The tool is not what one might call intuitive. It is also not what one might call cheap. I spent the better part of ten hours figuring out which buttons to press, in which order, while watching the dollar counter on my account tick down at a pace that suggested either I was being scammed or video generation actually costs what they say it costs. By the time I produced one usable video, half the length of the one I am about to show you, I had burned through almost two hundred dollars. Which is, give or take, my entire UberEats budget for the next two weeks.

I should pause to mention, here, that I had high hopes for April. I thought the Wise Wolf was finally taking off. I thought I might be able to hire Lily full-time and stop paying her in praise and the occasional Wendy’s gift card. April had different plans.

The reason I am still here, with teeth in my head, is a Wise Wolf reader named Mike, who reached out and helped me cover the oral surgery I needed when my mouth started doing things mouths are not supposed to do. I do not have dental insurance. Almost no one in independent media has dental insurance. Dental insurance is for people with HR departments, and I have, instead, Lily, who has opinions but no benefits portal.

Mike, wherever you are tonight, may your fridge always be full and your teeth always be where you left them. I owe you a casserole.

This morning I made a second Iran Lego video. The good news is that I have, in the past twenty-four hours, become roughly two-and-a-half times more efficient at this. The second video took four hours instead of ten, and cost sixty dollars instead of two hundred. By Christmas I may be able to produce one in the time it takes to microwave a Hot Pocket, assuming I can still afford a Hot Pocket, which is not guaranteed. If this video goes viral, expect more of them. If it does not, expect me to be very philosophical about it in next week’s article while quietly crying into my beans.

A word, before I show you the video, about who this video is for.

It is for you. It is also, more importantly, for your kids and your grandkids. I am increasingly convinced that the generation under twenty-five is being handed a binary choice they have not been told is a binary choice. The choice is between Christ and the alternatives, and the alternatives have been rebranded as “spirituality,” “self-actualization,” “wellness,” and the most popular alternative of all, which is calling yourself an atheist and then quietly worshipping whatever cultural deity Netflix tells you to worship that quarter.

Yesterday Lily messaged me. Hey boss, did you see that Iran lego video has a thousand times more views than anything else on the channel? I had not seen. I checked. She was right. A scrappy little video I had not made, had not edited, had not even bothered to caption properly, was outperforming everything Lily and I had ever produced. The Wise Wolf YouTube channel, after years of sober investigative work, was being carried on the back of a low-resolution legoland propaganda short I had found while eating cereal.

So I figured out the next move pretty quickly. The next move was to make one myself.

The next nine hours of my life were what professionals call “AI video generation,” and what I call “watching my soul get extracted through my GPU one frame at a time.” I spent roughly two hundred dollars in AI tokens, which, if you have never paid for video generation, costs approximately what a small horse costs, except the horse at least produces fertilizer.

Every prompt costs money. Every regeneration costs money. Every “huh that’s not quite right, let me tweak it” costs money. By hour four I was no longer creating video, I was negotiating with a slot machine that spoke broken English and occasionally hallucinated extra fingers. By hour seven I had developed a personal relationship with my error logs. By hour nine my Japanese girlfriend, who is a girl and is my friend and has given me explicit written permission to call her my girlfriend because I do what I want, looked at the final video and said “this is lowkey amazing wolf.”

That is the highest compliment I have received from another human being in 2026, and I am taking it.

So here it is. The video. I am sharing it because I worked too hard not to.
