He asked why there was no tech like computers and tablets and stuff depicted for a sci-fi movie. I explained that in the lore of the series, humanity had nearly gone extinct when they created Ai and machines and spent years wiping them out. Computers were made biological via genetic engineering of humans and called Mentats. Frank Herbert wrote this in the 1960's. It's not a new concept even then yet after nearly a century, humanity still wants to toy with this crap because we are all lazy at heart and want something else to do our work for us. History has shown it never works out as we intend, slavery being the ultimate example.
Businesses are good at making widgets, cars, buildings, etc. Most businesses are not run by people who can get their brain wrapped around AI and its potential. We need to start planning for the next administration and give them a Project 2029 that includes Biden's regulations. Put them back. Create a presidential commission to develop more strict regulations for where we will be three years from now. Get it to Congress and pass it with the new Democratic majority.
Then we will have less Zero days and fewer people trying to take advantage of them.
