I was fortunate to grow up in a country that had great reporting to record its history. Dan Rather is the definition of great reporting. Our new, would be great reporters no longer enjoy the support of principled newspaper and media producers. Letโs see if they surviveโฆโฆ if we can find a way to support them through the horrific corruption and mercenary publishing that is taking over. We must seek them out and amplify their voices on whatever media we can maintain for them.
Restack and share their work. Follow them. Speak out for them.
Love Mr. Rather and his Steady team. Look forward to reading the good information. I especially enjoy his Sunday Features. I have respected Mr Rather for at least 60 years. *Yes,
Iโm old. I hope I have half the brainpower he has, when Iโm his age.
I knew they were retaliating against Dan Rather. And I believed his story about Bush was accurate. His cred has always been serious and unparalleled. A great journalist, a true American and a decent man. We need a million more like him though in fact he really is one in a million.
Once he is gone, there won't be another like him EVER. The people taking over the world will NEVER allow a voice like his to rise above the noise again.
I fear you are right. They wonโt allow it. But I continue to hope and pray that we eventually crush these pp so that men and women like Dan Rather will rise.
Today, the news Mafia is controlled. The real journalists today, are the ones that spoke out when the overlords came up with the covid scheme . They labeled them the disinformation dozen. Twelve brave people, spoke out when they saw the great hoax being played out. They are my heroes. Now, there are millions of us that see the truth thanks to their bravery and truth. Many more are waking up, and on this platform. Thank you all brave new leaders!
I've been an ardent follower of a number of specific journalists here on Substack simply because they provide credibility and context in every piece they write.
Together with zero adverts, I can read, digest and form my own conclusions from people who quote their sources where necessary, such as @Heather Cox Richardson.
I believe Dan Rather was the last or one of the last to report the truth despite his personal opinions. He is a person of integrity and there was a time we valued this trait as a country, but unfortunately that is no longer the case and hasn't been for quite some time.
I have heard of Dan Rather but not had the experience of seeing his work.
Our journalism in Australia is also on the slippery slope to becoming abysmal. Our evening news is a mix of alarmist stories; puff pieces on the dramas of the rich and famous or puppies; commercials dressed up as news; and cross promotions of other programs on their particular tv channel. It is utter piffle!
Our national broadcaster is marginally better with a couple of current affairs programs where the journalists do ask the hard questions and push for real answers. But even here they recently sacked a Moslem journalist who was on a 4 day appointment to fill a gap. She was sacked in day 2 for sharing a post by Human Rights Watch that Israel was using starvation as a weapon of war. She took them to industrial court and won. No backbone in the leadership of the broadcaster and it was found that they had been pressured by pro-Israel lobbyists to sack her. So this source of journalistic light in the darkness has dimmed for me. How many other journalists are being pressured that we donโt get to hear about?
Excellent article, a bit repetitive in places, but the passion and strength is fantastic. And sometimes it take repetition to get the ideas through some very thick heads.
One thing thatโs not mentioned, but Dan tells in his stories is of his first assignment before JFKโs death. The civil rights movement, where he had some powerful interactions as a young white reporter among strong black activists.
Thank you for telling some of your own story and experiences, some true dedication!
Excellent reporting on the truth ๐๐ป Thankyou for sharing this testimony of true journalism ๐ช๐ป

We have to demand it and fight for it.

The last journalist with integrity
