The passage in Matthew that you mentioned seems remarkably similar to the arc that Trump has taken. He was kicked out, stewed about his fate in the wilderness while Biden tried to clean up the mess he left (swept?), and finally returned along with the likes of Stephen Miller, Pete Hegseth, RFK Junior, Kash Patel, Dr. Oz, Christi Noam, and the recently recruited Marco Rubio.
