The financial safety-net is either:

High income jobs, which always requires specific training that took years

Investments

I have neither, but man, do I regret being terrible with any money I could have invested properly...

Don't feel bad. I was a financial planner and tech stock analyst and I am terrible with (my own) money. I'm barely not homeless 50% of the time. lol

Lucas, Discernment Specialist's avatar

I live with my mom, would be homeless otherwise lol

Lucas, Discernment Specialist's avatar

Yeah it's not entirely our fault let's be honest, most people are struggling.

It's a nice thought WISE WOLF 🐺 but I don't have a retirement account, I love month to month on SSI & SS

I'm just going to have to Trust my Father ( Heavenly) on this one, It sure would be nice to be able to purchase Gold & Silver!! I've never gone without anything I've needed, even when I was homeless and pregnant many yrs ago but I do love reading what you write.....Love you brother 🫶💓🫂🥰

Everyone urges people to buy gold. No one actually tells you just how in the hell you're supposed to pay your mortgage or electric bill with gold coins. How would a supermarket make change for a gold coin worth $2500? It's simply impractical.

🐺The Wise Wolf's avatar

I think you are missing the point. It's a defense against hyperinflation and societal collapse in an emergency as well as an investment. It's not something you are going to be paying bills with. I honestly cannot believe how many comments I am getting from people that seem to think the USA is some sort of 'eternal nation'...

Frumious Bandersnatch's avatar

I certainly don't think the US is some 'eternal nation'. I've been a Cassandra for 40 years.

My point is if society collapses, gold is not going to save you. If we're talking about the point at which paying bills is a ludicrous proposition, you'd be better off stocking coffee, tobacco and skills.

🐺The Wise Wolf's avatar

I don't know what a 'Cassandra' is so that was a moot point mentioning.

Gold won't save you but coffee and tobacco will?

A bag of gold coins fits in a pocket. It can be traded for hundreds of pounds of coffee and tobacco.

Good luck lugging around a caravan of trade goods.

Me? I'll stick with my sack full of silver Mercury dimes... (I prefer silver to gold but that is a personal choice.)

Wise Wolf and Lily, I fully value the content of your Substack.

I do not know which comment to reply to!

When the banking system collapses due to overweight of Derivatives, and the ‘Great Taking’ ensues to guarantee the survival of the banking system (again!), I will be unable to access my precious metals ETFs. Bartering goods and purchasing goods with silver coins will be more functional in trade than gold, IMO. Should I need to acquire food and medicine, paying with a 1-ounce gold coin will make it difficult to receive change, thus silver stackers will have the advantage. I am a minimal silver stacker, but I have a pantry full of canned meat, fish and vegetables for personal consumption and trade. Items such as coffee and tobacco can be bartered. And yet I still feel unprepared, as a Christian how am I to deny the hunger of other beggaring ‘grasshoppers’ who failed to prepare? What a quandary!

I go with Mercury dimes. They are 90% silver and you can get 50 of them for 300-500 bucks depending on the market. I figure one of them is good for a few meals worth of moldy bread if SHTF. I have most of my savings invested in canned goods, solar batteries and panels, and video game systems that can run on rechargeable batteries so I have something to do in the hole I intend on digging in my backyard and hiding in when the world ends.

Their next move Wolf imo is a fake Trump death.

a portable water filtering system, knowledge of different fire starting/maintenance techniques, hunting + tracking skills, emergency triage practice, resilience against verbal assault + effective early perception/intervention of faction-forming behaviors in peers/members, unshakable determination in commitment to both justice and long term balance in natural systems we inhabit, humility and capacity for re-evaluation of previously known assumptions of fact, etc.

all more valuable seeming to me in such a scenario than a bag of solid precious metal coins

Ezekiel 7:19

19 “ ‘They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be treated as a thing unclean. Their silver and gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’s wrath. It will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs, for it has caused them to stumble into sin.

🐺The Wise Wolf's avatar

You're misreading the verse. That passage is about the wicked discovering their wealth cannot buy them out of God's judgment. It has nothing to do with regular people hedging against hyperinflation or societal collapse.

When the New World Order kicks in, a wheelbarrow of fiat currency won't buy a crust of moldy bread. There is no verse in Scripture that promises the faithful get magically whisked away by the Harpazo before things get ugly. I am not going to starve to death because I was too lazy to convert a few thousand dollars into silver. I have a pile of Mercury dimes that will keep me fed like a human being because I had the sense to prepare for every scenario.

Not every collapse is Biblical, either. Rome collapsed. The Ottoman Empire collapsed. Weimar Germany collapsed. Soviet Russia collapsed. Regular people starved in every single one of them.

I hope you know a lot about bushcraft, because that's the only thing feeding you when SHTF.

Ezekiel 7:19 "They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumbling block of their iniquity."

At this time they will all know that all their earthly treasurers are worthless on this "day of the Lord. This term; "the wrath of the lord" refers to only one day, and that is the last day of this earth age. Don't let anyone tell you that this refers to the day that Nebuchadnezzar and his Babylon army destroyed Jerusalem, for this can apply only to the end of this earth age.

What Is the “Day of the Lord”?

The Day of the Lord is usually thought of as the end of the world. Some scholars interpret this in an apocalyptic manner, as meaning the day the Lord plans to destroy the earth and establish his new kingdom. For example, the book of Revelation, a vision given to the apostle John, describes the time of God’s wrath upon those determined to be wicked. Many of the events in the book of Revelation are described also by the prophet Joel, who prophesies, “The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord” (Joel 2:31).

Jesus also refers to some of this, also quoting the prophet Isaiah, stating, “Immediately after the distress of those days ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other” (Matthew 24:29-31).

Regarding the rapture, you as a Hebrew should find this movie very interesting. The rapture is EVERYWHERE in scripture (old and new testaments). It is no secret but it (like the church) was a mystery. It is the blessed hope we are told to encourage one another with (for we are not in darkness as those who have no hope).

Well not just in the U.S. but across the whole globe. The ramifications are of course felt mostly in the Middle East at the moment. But my fear is it’s already spreading. Attacks on innocents throughout N.America and Europe? Economically even more so than The Trump Tariff wars, the war of economic attrition on U.S. allies. I fear the ravens will come home to roost economically for the U.S.. The loss of a military presence in the Gulf and all that infrastructure destroyed. The refusal of other countries to participate in rebuilding what Israel and the U.S. have destroyed? This one, Iran and Gaza, Beirut no one else was consulted or involved. Who should pay for all the destruction? Ukraine well that was NATO, but mostly U.S. encroachment on Russians borders. But the Zionists coalition of delusion are ultimately responsible for the M.E.! I’m afraid for the long lasting effects on Americans as much as on the rest of the G7. Scary version has arrived I believe.

It's too hard to make a living online without taking sponsorships. Some people get angry about that which is why gold (and maybe prepper stuff) are the only products I would ever accept sponsorships from. Hello Fresh offered us a real juicy contract but after I saw they expect people to pay 300 bucks for what amounts to around 120 bucks of groceries, we turned them down. Everyone should have at least 5 percent of their available capital in silver or gold at this point. If society collapses, people are going to accept precious metals in trade. That is how the world has always worked. Precious metals are 'precious' for a reason.

I often wonder how people will use the Gold they've invested in, in a true economic collapse and the new world order/Beast System that proceeds it. I mean get real. ALL assets will be seized by the powers that be and the playing fields leveled. The Gold fever, cespecially in CHRISTIANS, seems a useless, self-delusional pipe dream promoted by those clinging onto the old world and not putting enough trust in GOD. The Second Coming of Jesus to set up HIS Kingdom will certainly bring the profoundest paradigm shift where commerce is concerned.
