Hegseth has removed the Joint Chiefs Chairman, the Chief of Naval Operations, the Army Chief of Staff, the head of the DIA, the head of the NSA, and over a dozen other senior officers. Every single replacement is a personal loyalist. The new acting Army Chief has been described officially as someone who will carry out the vision "without fault." It amazes me how many of my Christian friends send me videos and photos of trump and say he’s a Christian. In an interview Trump was asked if he was a Christian. He answered yes my parents took me to the Presbyterian church. Then the reporter asked Trump if he needed forgiveness. Trump said, “ I don’t need forgiveness, I’ve never done anything wrong.” That answer clearly demonstrates he is not.
This is a touchy area. The military must have leaders who follow orders….not Willy nilly, but in accordance with the constitution that they swear an oath to. If the orders are unlawful/against the constitution then they are obligated to abide by the constitution.
In the early days of this country this might have held up but with the corruption going on in the courts and with the deep state, one may not get a fair trial on disobeying an unlawful order.
Look at all the s—t that General Flynn went through and what it cost him both monetarily and mentally and the toll it took on his family.
Going into Iran , IMO, was totally against the constitution and I don’t see it ending well. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t see it as Constitutional war. I voted for Trump but not this.

I appreciate the optimism, I really do, and I understand why that theory is appealing because it means someone is secretly in control and has a plan to fix all this. But I need you to look at the scoreboard. Hegseth has removed the Joint Chiefs Chairman, the Chief of Naval Operations, the Army Chief of Staff, the head of the DIA, the head of the NSA, and over a dozen other senior officers. Every single replacement is a personal loyalist. The new acting Army Chief has been described officially as someone who will carry out the vision "without fault." If this is Trump exposing bad players, he's been exposing them for over a year now and every single one gets replaced by someone with fewer qualifications and more loyalty. That's not exposure. That's consolidation. The theory only works if at some point the firings stop and the accountability starts, and so far we're moving in one direction only, which is the same direction every authoritarian consolidation in history has moved. I would love to be wrong about this. I voted for the man twice. But I cannot look at a pattern this clear and tell you it's secretly a good thing just because admitting what it actually is would be painful.

I don't agree as to why Hegseth fired the Army COS. It sure looks like someone leaked to the Washington Post, specifically that the "generals" (not specified) had presented DJT with a plan to secure the 400kg of 60% enriched uranium the Iranians claim to have. Said plan would require thousands of troops and many months. How did the WP get this info? Someone leaked.
I've observed various administrations for nearly a half-century. Not one has leaked less than this current Trump administration. The "12-day war" against Iran last year was a surprise. The attacks on Iran on Feb. 28 this year were a surprise. So while I can't prove the Army COS leaked to the WP, I think it's likely.
(About that 60% enriched uranium: There is NO civilian application that requires that degree of enrichment. None.)

That's a great joke attached to a terrible argument. The Navy SEALs are one specialized unit. They kick in doors and shoot people, and they're very good at it. The officers Hegseth fired run ENTIRE BRANCHES OF THE MILITARY. Fleet logistics, nuclear strategy, force deployment across multiple theaters, intelligence operations spanning the globe. A Navy SEAL knows about as much about running the Joint Chiefs of Staff as a really talented plumber knows about running a water treatment plant for a city of ten million people. They're both working with water. That's where the similarities end. Hegseth fired the people who decide where aircraft carrier groups go, how 82nd Airborne paratroopers deploy to Iran, and whether the intelligence the president sees is accurate or just flattering. Those are slightly different skill sets.

Although it doesn’t diminish from you argument it should be pointed out that 30 man platoons, national guard or active army, are lead by 2nd lieutenants and not majors. A major could be an executive officer or second in command of a battalion of roughly 600 men.
