I am changing my voter registration to Independent. I know that is a small step but if we all did that and stop supporting any campaigns, it would be a start.
Excellent move, it sends a message. I am agnostic (think of agnostics as religious Independents, free from religious silos) but have long been an independent voter. I still contribute to candidates and causes that I believe in. I also voted for the democrat candidate last year because I could see the absurd dangers ahead if Trump was elected. The Dems have a few less puppets, and if they were in power now, at least they wouldn't be tear-gassing our own infants.

WW...I have to confess, I almost unsubscribed after Lily's orginal article on the Minnesota shooting. (nothing against Lily...) I too voted for Trump twice. I don't consider my self part of the MAGA movement but I am America First. You really nailed it in this article. I consider myself a free thinker and an independent. I don't watch CNN or Fox or even any of the "alternative" conseervative voices (Walsh, Carlson, Shapiro et al.) I think they're all captured and although I will agree with some, if not most of what they say I think they're just part of the left/right show.
All that being said, it is amazing how one can be sucked in to the left/right dialectic. They sure know how to hit the right emotional buttons to elicit the wanted response.

I admit to watching news channels, but with a critical eye, but I cannot stomach CNN or Fox News. I watch a national news program because I need to get an idea of WTF is happening around the world today, and observe then ignore the slant that all news programs tend to insert. Something else that is commanded of us in the Bible: we are commanded to follow the laws of our lands. Jesus also espoused the necessity of teaching one how to sustain themselves and ot to be dependent upon others. In other words, 'a hand up, not a hand out'. Just like every other soverign nation, we too are a sovereign nation. We have laws and border laws just t like every other nation. We deport just as does every other nation deport. However, contrary to every other nation, we have been eternally gracious and welcoming, giving of our means to such acpoint it has to be put into check. Our own veterans and homeless are sleeping on streets in the cold without food and drink. Non-citizens are benefitting handsomely from our tax dollars. Soneone has to draw a line somewhere. We can not sustain ourselves at the rate we were going.

I’d like to point out something that few people are saying. In Matthew 24:3-14, our LORD Jesus Christ had the following discussion with his followers:

This is what I call the most inconvenient Truth, that our LORD and many Biblical writers predicted what is happening right now and will happen next. I have some good news. Everyone, read the Book of Revelation, chapter 19, starting in verse 11. Our King will return to establish order, and take heed, He is not coming to take sides; He is coming to take over.

I would also caution people to understand what happens when you understand you're a puppet and cut your own strings. In regard to the parallels Wise Wolf draws between The German Wiemar Republic 1933 and the American Republic today, I have had the same thought. Trump could declare a national emergency under the authority of the National Emergencies Act of 1976, allowing Trump the use of special authorities during crises that require immediate action. These powers can include military deployment, asset freezing (declaring a bank holiday?), and other significant actions like taking possession of your house and vehicles, or conscripting you into a neighborhood watch. The Act is subject to congressional oversight and must be declared formally (as if that would stop Trump!).
Trump hasn't done anything that was not allowed or unconstitutional. That has been proven by the courts repeatedly. Just because you all think it shouldn't be allowed or that it's unconstitutional doesn't make it so.
In February 2022 Canada invoked the Emergencies Act during the Truckers Freedom Convoy strike in the Ottawa capital and the international crossing at Coutts Alberta/Sweetgrass Montana. This Act allowed the government extraordinary temporary powers, including the prohibition of citizens assembling in public and the freezing of bank assets. These brave truckers were protesting the government-mandated Covid restrictions that did not permit inter-provincial or international travel without a Covid vaccine. Illegal arrests were made (some protestors spent months in jail), property was seized, firearms were ‘planted’, $3.8 million of Give Send Go was seized and some who had donated had their bank accounts frozen, more than 200 accounts worth nearly $8 million.
I am a Pure-blood. During this archaic time, I was not allowed to travel domestically by bus, train or plane. At one point I was not even allowed to travel out-of-province by private automobile. International travel… fuhgeddaboudit.
Just yesterday, 4 years later, the Federal Court of Appeal ruled that the Trudeau government unlawfully invoked the Emergencies Act in response to the 2022 Freedom Convoy and violated the Charter rights to freedom of expression and freedom of peaceful assembly. It upheld the decision that the protest did not meet the threshold of a national security threat. Four years! Damage already done, lives impacted, marriages broken, legal fees still outstanding.

While the violent aggressive hateful protesters here deserve to at least go to jail. The actions of the protesters here are not justified the way the truck drivers in Canada were. Majority of the protesters don't even know the facts about what their protesting. They've been misled with lies and propaganda that has resulted in them being hateful violent people yet very ignorant sometimes willfully so. When asked many of them can't even tell you why they're out there or they can't answer any specific questions about the issue they're either supporting or protesting. If they do have anything to say it's usually wrong or delusional. I'm going to bet the majority of truckers knew exactly why they were doing what they were doing. Yeah so there's actually no comparison between what happened with the truckers in Canada and the cry baby whiny bitch liberals here.
