OK I got it. They deport veterans. I talked to one person in Mexico that gave a similar stories...one little misdeed and they boot them out. If you are a guest in a foreign country and you break their laws, guess what -- you might just have your residence permit revoked. I know this because I am an American immigrant living in Denmark and the same thing would happen to me here if I got in trouble with the law, despite the fact that I have a family here and deporting me would be very sad.
