Well written l. I learned more. As a teenager graduating in 1980 I recall the satanism discussions with my Christian parents. While I rebelled I actually did leave a Black Sabbath cassette tape in their stereo and it understandably did not go well. A friend and I were hiking one day and found a pentagram in an area where Satanic rituals were known to be held. There definitely is power in witchcraft and demonology. Its not a 'yes' or 'no' question. This world is currently fallen and under Satan's realm. The way I have come to view it is, - you give your teenager some autonomy in their room, and as things get worse, you say 'I'm going to come in there if you don't clean up that problem', and when i do there will be hell to pay'.. God is waiting for evil to fully condemn itself before he finally acts. In Rev he says to wait a little season before he implements justice. This is how I understand the power struggle in this world

I grew up in the 60's and 70's. Never listened to black Sabbath. My mother would have pulled my hair out. I was more afraid of her than God. My children were born in the 80's and we were heavily into the New Age Movement, taught it at seminars. Seemed to be the same message Jesus came to teach. Until I met the real Jesus in the early 90's. In a little church called Omega. (the end) And I learned from day one the Book of Revelation and what was coming in the end time great tribulation. And how to prepare spiritually for being a light in a very dark world. And now, 33 years later, it is upon us and rapidly increasing like the swirling water at the last few seconds after pulling the plug in the bathtub. Only there is nothing to fear. This is not taking God by surprise. He warned us that this day was coming and prepared us for how to "stand". Isaiah 60 says when you see all this taking place, let your light shine in the darkness, the Glory of the Lord will rise upon you. Jesus already won this battle for us. I was a therapist for more than forty years. I saw the consequences of abuse writ large. The thing is though, (I believe)Christ is in the very centre of all creation and is helping us confront, and ultimately transform, the evil that humanity is capable of. I believe all this is being flushed to the surface so that we can confront evil. I believe in redemption too.
