I was never in the military , but my country- loving husband wanted to go to Viet Nam. His father prevented it. He was pissed about that.
I met him in 1970… we married in ‘73. He told me he went to Ft Leonard Wood as a special invitee by his brother in law. He went through basic. He did what he could for this war effort… and because of him, more than a few men made it home. No acknowledgment from the military… but I know, and I’m very proud of him. And those that came back know.
USAF Security Police LE/Military Working Dog Handler. Mid-80s. As someone else said, it was "peacetime" so I'm always reluctant to call myself a vet. Did lose some hearing from dogs barking in a concrete block kennel though. So I got that going for me. Which is nice.

No, brother, you keep your money. You deserve it by speaking up in areas that most people won’t. I have plenty of money to subscribe on my own. I do sincerely appreciate your offer though. I am a PROUD female (always been female!) veteran of the "so-called" Peacetime. Because I served in military intelligence I KNQW it's never been peacetime for this nation. The VA is awful and has harmed all veterans. When the whole truth is exposed regarding what the purpose of the military actually was it will alarm any true patriot! I served from 1978-1982. I'm 67 years old and basically have had my entire life destroyed by the decadence of VA policy and many VA employees. I'm angrier than he'll and STILL the VA is satanistic and horribly weaponizes psychiatry against most veterans. Thank you for reading my rant. I ❤️ this country. I hate what the government has done to U.S. Veterans. Thank God that He'd is always in control and has every veteran's 6!
