How about instead of spending $1.5 trillion a year on useless armaments, we close all overseas bases, mothball our surface navy, commit $15 billion to defend our borders and coastlines with drones and missiles (as Iran has so cleverly done), then spend the rest of that $1.5 trillion making the American economy great again by investing in free education, free healthcare, a government-sponsored construction blitz that kneecaps the price of housing and renews our infrastructure, including the creation of high-speed rail, limits on high consumer interest rates and monopolies, etc., and taxing the wealthy at 91% rates, just like in that "great" era people seem so fond of. That should still leave us with plenty of cash to start retiring the debt.
But doesn't China have lots of money? Why doesn't Xi just go to Bibi and ask him how much it would cost to buy control of US, including electronic surveillance systems, human assets, and Kompromat?
