I have 60 something chickens and they all have unique personalities. You are a good human! They love seeds but be careful with the salt. Mine love peanuts & sunflower seeds and dried/fresh fruits and cucumbers.

That is so sweet! I used to have chickens, they were the best, and our German Shepherd also loved one of them enough to kill her. So we had to get rid of the chickens, they went to a great home in the country, I will never forget them. My hairdresser, he raises chickens, and I buy his eggs, so it works! What you said about material things is so true. We had race cars, for 8 years, a lot of money spent on great memories, but it did nothing, just memories. We do not regret it, but our savings suffered for it. I am with you, even a smile to a stranger can change the world. I have been thinking about this lately, a lot, be kind to every one you meet, smile, offer help if they need it. We feed the neighborhood squirels and birds, and it breaks my heart when I see a squirrel dead on the road, because I name all of them. I even grow bluberries for the blue jays in my front flower bed, they love them!

Lol! He's addicted to junk food, but what he'd really love (in season right now) is a fresh ear of corn! Psst, it's way under a $1. Hens make good buddies. Once they trust you, they come running; don't mind being held cradled against you and stroked, and follow you like a puppy; but keep an eye on the the little wanderers. (Roosters may be different. Your picture looks like a hen.) They'll come home at dusk, but are easy prey for dogs, hawks and many other animals. I don't think your little buddy is being properly cared for 'at home'. Pour him water in a little bowl. He needs fresh water; no salt, please and thank you!

P.S. He'd love a peeled broken boiled egg, too. Actually, good for him. Check-out what to feed and what not to feed online. Some things can harm.

L♡VE Y♡UR G♡♡D HEART, WW!

i just typed fancy rooster into google images for the picture lol the actual bird has white specked feathers and these really intense bright green metallic feathers and a huge whatever that thing on top of their head is called lol i grew up on a farm, i should know this stuff but i was more interested in computers than slopping hogs and feeding chickens growing up.

good idea about the water and the egg btw! if he’s there later today i’ll drop him off a little care package with some water and a hard boiled egg. i don’t think a steady diet of ritz crackers and chips is the best thing for him.

See? You ARE "the best!" (Be sure to peel the egg (no shell) and break in two. He really wants the yolk.

Cantaloupe-seeds and all are fantastic and work as kinda antibiotics for them. Grapes, watermelon, peaches, peas, nuts, rice, pasta, steak and potatoes are staples for my girls. Hubs was bbqing, went in the house for something and one of the girls actually flew uo and brought a steak down. Hubs was pissed, but impressed.

Bravo!

A good friend keeps chickens on his allotment. He was sad when one died and when another guy said, ''it's only a chicken!'', my friend responded, ''Only a chicken! It was a blood miracle; a friend that gave me eggs with all the amino acids you'll ever need!''

WW, see you have farm fresh eggs and free range chickens right at your door step!! Why go to the corner market, it is better than what I have here, Ugghh!!

They can have shells. They're actually good for them. I grind them up and put them in their food for calcium. I also put some in my coffee grounds when I make my coffee (Italian pot). I'm sure the calcium I get is negligile but it's also supposed to cut down on the acid. :)

I once went to a fairly mediocre sex party, and came away with the conclusion it had been a "Pretty sh***y gang bang".
