It is well written as is because it is full of emotion. Emotion that most people in the world bury because they might be seen as weak or to open Etc. We know what should happen to her, however as Society no calls good evil and evil good those who deserve punishment for their choices and deeds will go free while the innocent are punished.

It is perfectly written. It would take an impossible amount of polish to turn this story into anything other than a horror story. The line you wrote that brought me to tears was “There is a beautiful day in the neighborhood that does not end.” I have largely stayed away from the details for my own (also mangled) mental health. As I read this and realized her medical background and suicide attempt—this may be unfair of me or way off base, but I know a thing or two about suicide attempts and I wonder if it was even a true attempt. Someone with medical training would presumably know what will and will not work. This sounds like the attempt of a teen who’s never tried before.
Anyway, aside from that I can’t understand how anyone could search that, google map the route, etc. and claim they hadn’t premeditated it.
I can’t believe women are saying they’ve thought about killing their kids! Go get help! Get help for the kids if not yourself. What loving parent wouldn’t be horrified to have had the thought? I’m sure many mentally ill parents have had a thought like that and then gone directly to their spouse or therapist to say “hey, I need help, a break, anything at all that is not killing someone.”
If you reading this ever think about hurting your kids or some other innocent person (including yourself) pick up the phone and call for help. The help available sucks, yes, but it’s better than living with being a murderer.
